Policy Consultant – AI Trainer

Job Summary

In this role as a Policy Consultant supporting AI Training and evaluation initiatives, you will apply your expertise in policy analysis, regulatory review, and strategic advisory work to help improve next-generation AI systems. Your work will shape how models learn, reason, and perform through high-quality, real-world policy and regulatory input.

This is an hourly-paid contract opportunity, not a traditional full-time policy consulting position. Contributors will work on project-based AI training tasks while collaborating remotely with distributed teams in a flexible work environment. No prior AI experience is required — your policy expertise is what matters.

Key Responsibilities

Analyze, draft, and review policy documents, legal contracts, proposals, research papers, and regulatory materials.
Contribute to AI training and evaluation projects through policy reasoning tasks, response evaluation, document analysis, and related workflows.
Provide strategic insights and recommendations on regulatory, legal, healthcare, academic, public policy, or finance-related matters.
Conduct thorough document reviews to ensure accuracy, compliance, clarity, and alignment with industry best practices.
Support document preparation activities including formatting, tracked changes, form completion, and information extraction.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to synthesize complex information into clear, actionable policies, procedures, and recommendations.
Stay informed about evolving regulations, legislation, and policy developments relevant to your area of expertise.
Communicate findings, analyses, and recommendations through clear and professional written and verbal communication.

Required Skills and Qualifications

Minimum 3+ years of professional experience in government policy operations, regulatory affairs, public policy, or related fields.
Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Word and PDF tools, including tracked changes, formatting, document review, and data extraction.
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with a strong emphasis on clarity, professionalism, and attention to detail.
Demonstrated expertise in drafting, analyzing, and reviewing complex policy, regulatory, legal, or governance documents.
Proven ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced remote environment.
Strong analytical and critical-thinking skills with the ability to interpret complex regulatory information.
High attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
Ability to work independently in a remote and distributed environment.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience working with Fortune 500 organizations or on high-profile regulatory, legal, policy, or compliance initiatives.
Track record of collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to deliver impactful outcomes.
Experience across multiple policy domains such as government, healthcare, finance, education, or regulatory affairs.
Familiarity with AI model evaluation or AI training-related policy and regulatory tasks is a plus.
