Full Job Description

Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Plant Controller to lead the financial management and accounting functions within our manufacturing facility. This pivotal role involves overseeing all financial operations, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, and providing strategic insights to support operational excellence. The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in various accounting disciplines, including governmental, non-profit, and public accounting, along with expertise in financial reporting, cash management, and internal controls. As a key member of our leadership team, you will drive financial integrity and contribute to the sustainable growth of our organization.

Duties

Manage the full spectrum of plant accounting activities, including general ledger maintenance, account reconciliation, and balance sheet analysis to ensure accuracy and completeness.
Oversee accounts payable and receivable processes, ensuring timely payments and collections while maintaining strong vendor relationships.
Prepare and review regulatory reports, financial statements, and compliance documentation in accordance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles), IFRS (International Financial Reporting Standards), and other applicable standards.
Lead budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis efforts to support operational decision-making and strategic planning initiatives.
Implement and monitor internal controls aligned with SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley Act) requirements to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance.
Conduct cash flow management activities, including cash forecasting and liquidity analysis to optimize working capital.
Utilize accounting software such as Sage, QuickBooks, Xero, or similar platforms to streamline financial operations and improve reporting efficiency.
Perform monthly account analysis, general ledger reconciliation, and double-entry bookkeeping to maintain accurate financial records.
Support payroll processing activities ensuring compliance with tax regulations and accurate employee compensation records.
Collaborate with external auditors during audits by providing necessary documentation related to governmental or non-profit accounting standards.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or CMA certification is highly preferred.
Proven experience in plant or manufacturing accounting roles with a strong understanding of technical accounting concepts.
Extensive knowledge of GAAP, IFRS, SOX compliance, governmental accounting standards, and non-profit accounting practices.
Proficiency in financial software such as Sage, QuickBooks, Xero, or similar platforms; experience with advanced Excel functions is advantageous.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data accurately.
Excellent communication skills for preparing clear financial reports and collaborating across departments.
Ability to manage multiple priorities effectively while maintaining attention to detail under tight deadlines.
Knowledge of accounts payable/receivable processes, account reconciliation techniques, budgeting procedures, and regulatory reporting requirements.
