Full Job Description

RCS Staffing has an immediate need for a Document Specialist in Springfield, Virginia. This is a full-time long-term contract Office Based assignment with our client. This position offers a competitive package including benefits, vacation and holidays.

Overview of YOUR role as a Document Specialist
As a Document Specialist, you will be responsible for receiving, organizing, and verifying documents in a production/metrics driven environment. This role requires attention to detail, the ability to adapt to project changes while meeting tight deadlines, and strong communication skills with multiple groups and contacts. All work will be done at the client's site with office hours of 7a-4p (EST). Thorough procedure documents and training will be provided.

As a Document Specialist YOU will:
· Receive and organize documents from the relevant team
· Ensure documents are complete and ready for processing
· Verify the quality and completeness of documents
· Address any issues with the relevant team through appropriate communication channels
· Submit documents to the records team for scanning
· Retrieve scanned documents and verify their accuracy
· Provide feedback on any scanning issues
· File physical documents in the designated storage area
· Work independently with minimal supervision
· Meet tight deadlines in a production-driven environment
· Adapt to possible project/standard changes as needed

YOU are the ideal Document Specialist candidate if you have:
· Ability to handle repetitive tasks and be detail-oriented in a production/metrics driven environment (required)
· Ability to adapt to possible project/standard changes while meeting tight deadlines
· Interdisciplinary communication skills; ability to communicate with multiple groups and contacts
· Capable of working independently with minimal supervision
· Ability to lift and move file cartons weighing up to 50 pounds (required)
· Ability to stand for extended periods of time (required)
· Proficiency with MS Office
· Basic computer knowledge
· Strong attention to detail
· Multi-tasking and adaptability skills
· Reliable and punctual attendance

It's a BONUS if you have:
· GIS Experience
· Previous document management or records handling experience
· Experience with scanning or document processing systems
· Organizational or filing system experience
· Data entry experience

Pay: $20.00 - $22.00 per hour
