The Engineer/Scientist serves as a technical contributor in the research, development, analysis, testing, and evaluation of electro-optical (EO), infrared (IR), directed energy weapons, counter UAS, AI/ML, and countermeasure/counter-countermeasure technologies associated with advanced weapon systems and defense applications. Participate in laboratory, ground, captive-flight, and live-field test activities involving military or foreign weapon systems, sensors, and electronic warfare technologies. This position requires a hands-on, mission-oriented individual capable of working in both office/lab settings and field test environments with travel up to 40% possible. Personnel participate in system integration, troubleshooting, test execution, data analysis, and technical reporting associated with advanced defense systems. Support the analysis, development, testing, and evaluation of advanced weapon systems. Assist in determining the susceptibility, vulnerability, and operational effectiveness of weapon and sensor systems in countermeasure environments. Support or lead test planning activities, including development of test procedures, instrumentation setup, data collection methodologies, and post-test analysis. Operate, troubleshoot, repair, modify, and integrate laboratory and field-test equipment associated with US systems and related technologies. Analyze test data and prepare technical reports, presentations, and briefings documenting findings, system performance, and recommended corrective actions or design improvements. Collaborate with engineers, scientists, military personnel, contractors, and government agencies to support ongoing programs and technical initiatives. Assist in the development and evaluation of innovative concepts, techniques, devices, and supporting technologies to evaluate system performance. Review technical documentation, analytical studies, and system performance assessments. Participate in technical meetings, design reviews, conferences, and customer briefings related to defense technologies and mission support activities. Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior personnel and technicians as experience level increases. Maintain compliance with applicable safety, security, and operational procedures during laboratory and field activities. Independently perform technical assignments and lead small projects or test teams.
Bachelor’s degree in Electronics or related field from an accredited institution. Demonstrated knowledge of, and proficiency with, technical drawing software, including the ability to efficiently create designs of complex systems. Must possess a valid driver’s license. Applicant selected will be subject to a security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government SECRET security clearance.

Desired Qualifications:
Graduate degree in Engineering from an accredited institution, with a curriculum focused in the area of electronics or electrical engineering. Ability to perform independent engineering/mathematical analysis of diverse projects. Project management experience and familiarity with Systems Engineering best practices. Familiarity with the International Building Code (IBC), National Electrical Code and OSHA Construction and General Industry standards. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Familiarity with Department of Defense (DoD) Test and Evaluation programs and mission support activities. Active DoD security clearance.
