James Magazine/James Magazine Online is an online subscription news service and print magazine company featuring Georgia-only content. It is a leading source for news regarding Georgia business, politics, and culture. For over two decades, our controlled-circulation print publication and daily digital platform have reached the most influential audience of top corporate, professional, and government leaders. We reach thousands daily.

This position is for a dynamic, results-driven Advertising Sales Supervisor. They will be responsible for setting sales strategies, managing and mentoring a team of sales representatives and directly driving revenue through the sale of premium print and digital ad space to high-value clients. They will work closely with our editorial, marketing and operational teams to ensure advertising outreach aligns with our brand and exceeds client expectations.

Key Responsibilities:

Team Leadership: Supervise, train, and mentor advertising account managers to hit individual and departmental revenue targets.

Sales Strategy: Develop and execute actionable sales strategies tailored to our unique political and business audience.

Account Management: Cultivate and manage high-level relationships with key accounts, political campaigns, lobbyists, and corporate advertisers.

Business Development: Actively source new business leads and pitch James Magazine as the premier platform for reaching Georgia’s decision-makers.

Qualifications & Requirements:

Experience: Minimum of 3–5 years of progressive experience in print and digital advertising sales with sales team development and supervisory experience.

Industry Knowledge: Strong familiarity with the Georgia business and political landscape is a significant advantage.

Sales Skills: Proven track record of closing deals, negotiating pricing and meeting or exceeding sales quotas. This requires a comfortable, relationship-based approach to leads and sales generation through a combination of in-person, phone and email correspondence.

Media Expertise: Solid understanding of both print publishing and digital advertising ecosystems (display ads, paid editorials, sponsorships, etc.)

Professional Skills:

A solid work and professional ethic (a self-starter) with exceptional organizational, communication and leadership skills; ability to thrive in a fast-paced media environment.
A college degree is preferred. Must be proficient with macOS or Windows operating systems and shared file management systems.
Ability to research sources for developing prospective customers
Ability to accurately and thoroughly complete and execute sales contracts

The Advertising Sales Supervisor should be able to participate in sales calls two times per week, attend company meetings (typically 1x per month) and occassionally attend relevant networking/business events on behalf of the company.

Compensation for this position is a base monthly salary (commiserate with experience and negotiable) plus commissions on your individual ad sales. Initial accounts and leads are guaranteed. The income potential is unlimited. Travel expenses are also negotiable when necessary.
