Full Job Description

Electrical Design Engineer

12 months contract

Remote

Responsible for electrical power distribution design, analysis, system upgrades, engineering change control, and multidisciplinary project coordination for nuclear and power generation facilities.

Job Requirements

Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET-accredited school
8–10 or more years of electrical design engineering experience
Experience with electrical power distribution design and analysis
Experience applying electrical power distribution design to nuclear plants
Strong knowledge of generating station power upgrades
Experience with system protection, system stability, and relaying
Knowledge of applicable codes and standards for nuclear plants and conventional power plants
Experience with project management
Experience coordinating multidisciplinary engineering teams
Familiarity with engineering change control processes
Familiarity with QA program requirements
Working knowledge of generation plant design and operation

Preferred Skills

Professional Engineer license
Nuclear power plant design or operation experience
Skid-based design experience
International power project experience
Small Modular Reactor design experience
Advanced Reactor design experience
Experience supporting electrical upgrades in generating stations
Experience interfacing with customers on technical engineering work

Job Responsibilities

Perform electrical design engineering for nuclear and power generation facilities
Design and analyze electrical power distribution systems
Support generating station power upgrades
Evaluate system protection, system stability, and relaying requirements
Apply applicable codes and standards to nuclear and conventional plant electrical designs
Coordinate electrical design activities with multidisciplinary project teams
Support project management activities for electrical engineering scope
Prepare and review electrical engineering design documentation
Apply engineering change control processes to design changes
Support QA program requirements during electrical design and analysis work
Provide engineering support for generation plant design and operation needs
Support electrical design activities for nuclear plants, skid-based systems, international power projects, Small Modular Reactors, or Advanced Reactor designs as applicable
