Full Job Description

Licensed Architecture or Engineering Teacher.

Newtown High School is seeking an innovative and industry-experienced Engineering Career and Technical Education (CTE) Teacher to prepare high school students for careers in architecture, engineering, and construction. The teacher will deliver engaging, project-based instruction in engineering design, technical drawing, and architectural drafting while integrating industry-standard software, including AutoCAD, into daily instruction.

Teach Engineering and Architecture CTE courses aligned with New York State CTE standards and NYC Public Schools curriculum.
Deliver instruction in AutoCAD for 2D drafting, 3D modeling, floor plans, construction drawings, and engineering design.
Develop and implement hands-on, project-based learning experiences that promote critical thinking, creativity, and problem-solving.
Teach engineering concepts, technical drawing, blueprint reading, design principles, and construction technology.
Prepare students for industry-recognized certifications and NOCTI Architectural Drafting assessments where applicable.
Integrate emerging technologies such as 3D printing and CAD into classroom instruction.
Maintain a safe and organized engineering laboratory/classroom environment.
Assess student performance using projects, portfolios, presentations, and technical drawings.
Collaborate with school administrators, CTE staff, industry partners, and postsecondary institutions to provide career-connected learning opportunities.
Support students in career readiness, internships, mentorships, and college planning.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $68,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
