Full-Time CAD Technician, Civil Engineering. Join the Wuest Group!

Wuest Group is growing, and we’re looking for a CAD Technician to join our Austin-based team. If you’re seeking a role that offers diverse project exposure, a collaborative office environment, and a clear path for career advancement, we want to hear from you.

The Role

Wuest Group Engineering & Survey is seeking an experienced CAD Technician to support our integrated civil engineering and survey teams. Because we house both disciplines under one roof, you will work on a mix of standalone survey projects and full civil engineering design packages.

Key Responsibilities

Engineering Support

Assisting with site grading, utilities, stormwater detention, and water quality facilities
Supporting civil plan production and drafting across active land development projects

Survey Production

Drafting plats, boundary surveys, topographic surveys, as-builts, and tree surveys

Requirements

Core Experience

2+ years of CAD drafting experience in civil land development
Experience may include residential subdivisions (e.g., lot development), commercial projects, and/or transportation-related work; candidates with experience limited to single-family home design (architectural-only residential design) are not a strong fit for this role

Technical Skills

Strong proficiency with AutoCAD and/or Civil 3D is required
Experience producing civil land development drawings and construction plans
At least 1+ year of AutoCAD experience in Texas is strongly preferred
Exposure to traffic-related plans such as TCPs, TURPs, or parking layouts is a strong plus, but not required

Education

Must have a technical degree (2-year or 4-year degree in drafting, engineering technology, civil engineering, or related field)

Candidate Fit Notes

Out-of-state land development experience is acceptable, but Texas and Austin-specific experience is highly preferred and considered a strong differentiator
Strong real-world CAD production experience is essential; certifications alone are not sufficient for this role
Applicants must be permanently authorized to work in the United States. Wuest Group is unable to provide visa sponsorship now or in the future

Location

This is a full-time, onsite position at our office in the North Loop/Mueller area
Applicants must reside in the Austin area and have reliable transportation
