Full Job Description

OverviewBluGlass is developing next‑generation GaN-based UV/VIS laser technologies for Industrial, Electronics, Scientific, Biotech, General Lighting, and Automotive markets. We are looking for high‑potential new graduates who are excited to grow into key technical roles in our R&D and manufacturing teams.

This is a general Graduate Engineer position. Based on your background and interests, you may be placed into one of several focus areas after joining, such as:

Laser packaging and process engineering
Equipment and automation engineering
Test, characterization, and reliability engineering
Laser diode device R&D

You will work closely with experienced engineers and scientists, gaining hands‑on experience while contributing directly to our product development and production.

Key ResponsibilitiesDepending on your skills and assigned track, responsibilities may include:

Supporting laser diode characterization, including light‑current‑voltage (LIV), spectral, and beam quality measurements.
Assisting with set‑up, operation, and improvement of optical and electrical test benches and automated test systems.
Contributing to reliability and qualification activities (e.g., lifetime testing, environmental and temperature/humidity stress).
Supporting laser packaging processes, assembly, and process development or improvement.
Assisting with development, build, and troubleshooting of custom equipment and automation for production and test.
Collecting and analyzing experimental and production data; preparing clear summaries, plots, and reports for the engineering team.
Following lab and cleanroom procedures; helping maintain equipment, calibration, and safety practices.
Documenting procedures, test conditions, and results in an organized and repeatable way.

You are not expected to know all of these areas on day one. You will receive training and mentorship and will grow into your responsibilities over time.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics, Optics/Photonics, Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field (earned within the last 2 years or soon to graduate).
Demonstrated interest in lasers, photonics, semiconductors, or electronics (through coursework, projects, internships, or research).
Basic hands‑on lab skills (e.g., using oscilloscopes, power supplies, optical components, test equipment, or similar).
Ability to work carefully and safely in a lab or cleanroom environment.
Strong problem‑solving skills, curiosity, and willingness to learn new tools and techniques.
Good communication skills and ability to work in a collaborative, fast‑paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications (Nice to Have, Not Required)

Experience with any of the following: semiconductor lasers, optical alignment, laser packaging, reliability testing, or automation.
Familiarity with basic data analysis tools (Excel, Python, MATLAB, or similar).
Internship, co‑op, or research experience in photonics, semiconductors, or related fields.
