OPENING EXPECTED IN LATE AUGUST TO SEPTEMBER 2026 – NOW HIRING SERVERS!

Hokkaido Ramen Santouka is opening its first downtown Chicago location in the lively West Loop district.

We are continuing to build our Opening Server Team for our new downtown Chicago restaurant, with the opening currently expected in late August to September 2026.

This is a rare opportunity to join the founding team and help build the restaurant from the ground up. If you want to be part of something new, exciting, and full of potential, we would love to meet you!

Paid training shifts will be held prior to the opening.

PAY & BENEFITS

Estimated Pay: $30.00 – $50.00 per hour
This estimate includes base pay and tips.

POSITION OVERVIEW

We are looking for energetic, friendly, and reliable individuals to join our new Front of House team.

As an opening member, you will help shape our service style, team culture, and guest experience from day one.

This position is a great fit for someone who enjoys working with people, staying active, and being part of a supportive team.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES

Greet guests and provide friendly, professional service
Take orders and serve food and beverages
Explain menu items and answer guest questions
Clean tables, dining areas, and service stations
Assist with opening, closing, and side work
Stand for long periods of time
Lift up to 25–40 lbs as needed
Work efficiently in a fast-paced restaurant environment
Support teammates and daily operations

POSITION DETAILS & TIP POOLING

Approximately 25–30 hours of paid training before regular shifts begin
A tip pooling system is applied to both cash and credit card tips
Tips are pooled and distributed fairly based on role and contribution
Back of House staff do not participate in the tip pool
Team members are expected to follow Santouka’s service standards and operational procedures
Team members will support daily operations and assist teammates as needed

REQUIREMENTS

Must obtain a Food Handler Certificate before starting work
BASSET certification will be required once alcohol service begins
Must be legally authorized to work in the United States
Previous restaurant or customer service experience is preferred, but not required

SCHEDULE REQUIREMENTS & SHIFT OPTIONS

Shifts may vary depending on business needs.

We welcome applicants with a wide range of availability and will discuss possible schedules during the interview process.

Shift times are flexible and will be arranged based on applicant availability and operational needs.

Examples of common shift patterns:

Lunch: 11:00 AM – 4:00 PM
Dinner: 4:00 PM – 10:00 PM

Other shift arrangements may be available depending on restaurant needs and applicant availability.
