Serves on the FOCUS Business Support Group, the county's SAP functional support team, as the lead administrator for the Financial modules of the FOCUS (SAP ERP) system, with a primary focus on Funds Management (FM), Grants Management (GM), Asset Accounting (AA), and Project Systems (PS). Serves as the functional expert for these modules and their associated business processes.
Investigates and resolves complex FM, GM, AA, and PS system issues; manages end-to-end functional problem resolution; and coordinates with management, business process owners, external agencies, and technical staff. Knowledge and understanding of other financial modules in SAP including General Ledger, Controlling, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and Treasury is a plus. Experience with SAP S/4HANA and end-to-end SAP FI implementation (design, configuration, testing, and deployment) is a plus.
Collaborates with fellow FOCUS Business Support Group members, IT staff, and agency representatives to assess system capabilities, evaluate enhancements or upgrades, maintain existing functionality, diagnose issues, and provide guidance on policies, procedures, and best practices related to supported modules. Conducts research on current and proposed functionality and provides recommendations to improve system effectiveness.
Assists in the preparation of short- and long-range information technology plans. Represents the FOCUS Business Support Group in discussions with business process owners, agency representatives, information technology staff and end users. In concert with other FOCUS Business Support Group team members, acts as the intermediary between end users and technical staff to resolve problems. Assists in determining causes of system problems and works with technical staff and various teams to determine appropriate corrective actions. Defines problems and recommends procedural, policy and system solutions. Performs system configurations. Performs testing activities related to system configuration, development work, and routine system upgrades. Understands and follows change management policies and procedures.
Fairfax County’s current telework policy allows employees to telework up to 60% of the weekly working schedule. For this position, that generally equates to a maximum of 3 days a week of remote work and at least 2 days a week in the office at the Fairfax County Government Center in Fairfax, VA.)

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Any combination of education, experience, and training equivalent to the following:

Bachelor's degree in business, computer science or a field related to the department where the IT services are being used: plus four years of experience analyzing business processes and/or developing/maintaining the main business system, technical platform or a related system.
NECESSARY SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:

Extensive knowledge and experience with SAP ECC Financials with an emphasis on Funds Management (FM), Grants Management (GM), Asset Accounting (AA) and Project Systems (PS).

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Job is generally sedentary in nature, however, employee must be sufficiently mobile to attend meetings and make presentations. Employee may be required to lift and carry up to 15 lbs.
