General Manager

Glacial Lakes SnoBear

Position Summary

The General Manager is responsible for the overall leadership, daily operations, and financial success of Glacial Lakes SnoBear. This role oversees all aspects of the business, including customer service, staff management, inventory, marketing, budgeting, and community engagement. The General Manager leads by example to create a positive team culture while ensuring every customer receives exceptional service and a high-quality product.

Key Responsibilities

Shop Operations

Oversee day-to-day shop operations to ensure efficiency and profitability.
Set priorities and manage the service schedule to meet deadlines.
Review work orders, verify repairs, and implement standard operating procedures.
Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming environment.
Ensure compliance with safety regulations.

Leadership & Team Management

Recruit, hire, train, schedule, and supervise employees.
Foster a positive, respectful, and accountable workplace culture.
Conduct performance evaluations and provide coaching and development.
Ensure adequate staffing during peak and off-peak periods.
Address employee concerns and resolve conflicts professionally.

Customer Experience

Deliver exceptional customer service and set high service standards.
Handle customer concerns promptly and professionally.
Build relationships with customers and encourage repeat business.
Maintain a fun, family-friendly atmosphere that reflects the Glacial Lakes SnoBear brand.

Financial Management

Work along office staff to:

Develop and manage budgets.
Monitor daily sales, labor costs, and operating expenses.
Analyze financial reports and implement strategies to improve profitability.
Manage cash handling procedures, deposits, and financial reporting.

Inventory & Purchasing

Work in conjunction with our inventory manager to:

Order products, supplies, and equipment.
Maintain accurate inventory levels.
Work with vendors to ensure quality products and competitive pricing.
Monitor inventory to reduce shortages and overstock.

Marketing & Community Engagement

Plan and execute promotional campaigns
Manage social media and local marketing efforts.
Participate in community events and partnerships.
Develop strategies to increase customer traffic and sales.

Qualifications

Previous management or supervisory experience preferred.
Strong leadership and team-building skills.
Excellent communication and customer service abilities.
Strong organizational and time management skills.
Basic knowledge of budgeting, financial reporting, and inventory management.
Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
Proficiency with point-of-sale (POS) systems and basic computer applications.
Valid driver's license and reliable transportation preferred.

Physical Requirements

Ability to stand for extended periods.
Lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
Work in varying weather conditions.
Bend, reach, and perform repetitive tasks.
