Full Job Description

Environmental Project Manager

Giles Engineering Associates, Inc., a leading provider of Environmental, Geotechnical, Subsurface Exploration and Construction Materials Testing services, is looking to expand our Environmental engineering department and is actively seeking Mid and Senior Level Environmental Engineers/Geologists to join our Orange, CA team. All candidates should possess excellent written and verbal communication skills, along with strong organizational capabilities and be able to multi-task.

Established in 1976, Giles provides a wide range of services to our clients on local, regional and national levels. In addition to our corporate office located in Waukesha, WI, we also maintain branch offices located in Los Angeles, CA and Dallas, TX.

Candidates should have earned a bachelor’s degree in geology, hydrogeology, and/or environmental engineering, with master’s degree preferred. Licensed PG/PE in California desired. Minimum of 3 years of experience since college graduation. Work is based out of Giles’ Orange County California office.

Responsibilities/Skills

· Required to perform Phase I & II Environmental Site Assessments (ESAs) (both field work and preparing reports), Development of Remedial Action Plans, preparation of Closure Documents, and other work as assigned.

· Have and maintain a current Hazwopper Certification. OSHA 40-Hour Health and Safety Waste Site Worker Training and Annual Refresher

· Responsible for technical execution and completion of multiple concurrent projects

· Preparation of proposals

· Defines the project scope of work, project strategy, project schedule, educates self and client regarding regulatory expectations and requirements, and negotiates outcomes with regulatory agencies as a client advocate.

· Ensures project is executed correctly, on time and on budget. Communicates deviations to the client and client manager to assure compliance with contractual agreements

· Maintains understanding of project financial issues including: terms, changes in proposed scope, and billing process

· Knows and understands applicable environmental guidance documents, codes, regulations and laws, in particular for the State of California

· Monitors project performance

· Implements applicable Giles policies
