Position Summary
As a Veterinary Technician, you play an essential role in advancing exceptional patient care through clinical expertise, compassionate service, and collaborative teamwork. Working alongside veterinarians, you help deliver advanced medical treatment, assist with surgical and diagnostic procedures, educate pet owners, and support the daily operations of a professional veterinary hospital. Your technical knowledge, attention to detail, and calm, confident approach creates an environment where patients receive outstanding care and clients feel informed, supported, and confident throughout every stage of treatment.
What You Will Create
- Exceptional patient care by assisting with examinations, diagnostics, venipuncture, vaccinations, anesthesia monitoring, surgical procedures, dental treatments, and other advanced clinical nursing responsibilities while prioritizing patient comfort and safety.
- A compassionate, reassuring experience for pet owners through professional communication, thoughtful education, and clear explanations of treatment plans, home care instructions, and preventive care recommendations.
- Accurate and thorough medical documentation that supports continuity of care, regulatory compliance, and informed clinical decision-making.
- Safe, low-stress handling and restraint of cats and dogs during examinations, treatments, and medical procedures while protecting the well-being of patients, clients, and fellow associates.
- An organized, sanitary, and professional hospital environment by maintaining treatment areas, exam rooms, equipment, and workspaces to the highest standards of cleanliness and safety.
- Efficient daily hospital operations by supporting reception responsibilities, scheduling appointments, answering telephones, managing patient arrivals and departures, updating medical records, and completing administrative tasks with accuracy.
- A secure environment by remaining attentive to the safety and well-being of patients, clients, associates, and hospital facilities throughout each shift.

Qualifications
- Current Pennsylvania Veterinary Technician Certification required, or the ability to transfer an active out-of-state Veterinary Technician Certification to Pennsylvania.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Secondary education in a Veterinary Assistant or Veterinary Technician program preferred.
- Experience handling cats and dogs in a clinical or veterinary setting required.
- Proficiency using computers and standard office equipment, including scanners, copiers, and related technology.
- Ability to think critically, prioritize effectively, and perform confidently in a fast-paced clinical environment.
- Strong verbal communication skills and the ability to communicate effectively in English.
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the workday.
- Ability to lift patients and equipment weighing up to 50 pounds independently and assist with lifting heavier patients as needed.
