Full Job Description

Endodontic & Periodontic Associates, a large and long established dental specialty group, seeks a full or part time Dental Hygienist in our newly renovated Oak Lawn IL office (4550 W 103rd St, Oak Lawn, IL 60453). The Hygienist is needed to perform high quality and efficient dental hygiene procedures including patient screening, maintaining medical history information and periodontal charting. The chosen Hygienist is to perform routine examination of head, neck and oral cavity for disease, probe, Cavitron, handscale, and polish teeth. Records information in patient record. Build and maintain positive and professional relationships with patients.

SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Review patient's charts for the day.
Provide hygiene care to patients, including recording all findings and reporting any concerns to Periodontist.
Administer local anesthetic when necessary.
Take full-mouth radiographs of patients at required periodic intervals.
Instruct and/or provide patients with any necessary tools for home care.
Refer patient to Periodontist for evaluation if deemed necessary.
Review future schedules and make recommendations to Front Desk Staff to fill open appointment times.
Contact patients to offer open appointment times.
Ensure that patients have future recall appointments scheduled.
Send periodic periodontal progress report to DDS.
Perform suture removals.
Return calls from patients and general dentists in a timely fashion.
Attend seminars.
Other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Must be certified dental hygienist from accredited school. Local anesthetic certification and previous periodontal skills preferred. Must have basic computer skills. Some travel to other satellite offices is required.
