For more than 58 years, National Exemption Service has partnered with apartment owners and property management companies throughout the United States, providing Utility Expense Management, Submetering, Wireless Leak Detection, MyReads, and ENERGY STAR Benchmarking services that help improve property operations while reducing utility costs.

Today, we proudly serve clients in 43 states and continue to grow. Over the past five years, we've achieved approximately 25% year-over-year growth, driven by long-term client relationships, innovative technology, and the continued expansion of our Wireless Leak Detection services.

This is a newly created position driven by continued company growth. We're expanding our sales team to meet increasing demand and continue building relationships throughout the multifamily housing industry.

We're looking for a sales professional who enjoys prospecting, developing new business, and helping clients solve operational challenges. Candidates with established relationships with Regional Property Managers, apartment owners, and property management companies will be especially successful in this role.

This is a true business development position, not an account management role. Success comes from creating your own opportunities through cold calling, networking, referrals, and relationship building.

What You'll Sell

You'll represent a portfolio of industry leading services that help multifamily property owners and managers reduce costs, improve operations, and protect their assets, including:

Utility Expense Management
Submetering Solutions
Wireless Leak Detection
MyReads
ENERGY STAR Benchmarking

What You'll Do

Develop new business through prospecting, cold calling, networking, referrals, and relationship building.
Build relationships with Regional Property Managers, apartment owners, and property management companies.
Conduct sales presentations and product demonstrations.
Manage opportunities from first contact through signed agreement.
Maintain an active sales pipeline and consistently achieve sales goals.

What We're Looking For

The ideal candidate already calls on Regional Property Managers, apartment owners, or property management companies and understands how to build long term relationships within the multifamily housing industry.

Required Qualifications

5+ years of outside B2B sales experience.
Proven success generating new business through prospecting and cold calling.
Strong communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
Self-motivated with a demonstrated history of achieving sales goals.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience selling products or services to the multifamily housing industry.
Existing relationships with Regional Property Managers, apartment owners, or property management companies.
Experience selling utility related or other B2B products and services to apartment communities.

Work Location & Travel

This position offers a hybrid or remote work arrangement for the right candidate.

Exceptional candidates with relevant multifamily industry experience who reside outside the area may be considered for a fully remote position.

Travel is minimal and generally consists of 3 to 4 industry trade shows per year, along with occasional client visits.

Training & Support

You'll work directly with experienced company leadership while learning our products, pricing, services, and sales process.

Candidates already selling to Regional Property Managers can typically ramp up quickly after learning our solutions. Those transitioning from related industries will receive the support and training needed to become successful.

We're looking for an accomplished sales professional who already knows how to develop business. We'll teach you our services, pricing, and industry.

$60,000 Base Salary
