Full Job Description

Workday Security Analyst

Raleigh, NC

A company in Raleigh, North Carolina is hiring a Workday Security Administrator to own the administration, maintenance, and optimization of security configuration within its Workday HRIS. This is a senior-level HRIS role responsible for developing and managing custom security roles, permissions, and access controls to protect data integrity and maintain compliance. The role partners closely with HR, IT, and business stakeholders to translate security requirements into best-practice solutions and to support audit and change-management standards.

Schedule Full-time. Remote, hybrid, or onsite status in Raleigh, NC to be confirmed with the employer.

Compensation $130,000 - $140,000 Per Year. Salary commensurate with experience.

What You'll Do You will set up, configure, and maintain security roles, groups, and access controls in Workday to align with organizational policies, and you will develop and maintain the underlying security policies, procedures, and guidelines. You will troubleshoot and resolve security-related issues such as end-user access problems, and you will work with HR, IT, and business partners to translate security requirements into practical solutions. You will support internal and external SOX audits by providing documentation and ensuring compliance with access and change-management standards, and you will maintain comprehensive documentation of security configurations, processes, and incident resolutions.

Beyond core security work, you will provide internal client support that includes report writing, dashboard building, and resolving data access and system issues. You will help ensure data integrity within Workday, assist with HRIS data audits and security role cleanup, and provide program management support on HR initiatives, including the rollout of new and existing HR programs. You will participate in Workday migration and enhancement sessions and stay current with HRIS trends through the Workday Community, training, and regional user groups.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree with 5 or more years of experience in Human Resources, HRIS, or a related field
3 or more years of Workday experience across multiple functional areas, including HCM, Benefits, Security, Absence, Time Tracking, and Reporting
3 to 5 years of experience implementing and configuring security for Workday HCM modules, including business process security and integration security groups
Proficiency creating custom security groups, configuring security policies, and managing domain permissions for business and integration security groups
Strong experience with role-based and user-based security and creating custom security domains to grant or restrict access effectively
Experience with Authentication Policies, Single Sign-On configuration, and Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA)
2 or more years of data analysis experience designing custom reports and dashboards using Workday Report Writer, calculated fields, and advanced Excel
Experience with Workday EIB template generation, population, and data loading using advanced Excel
History of working with confidential data
Strong technical troubleshooting, documentation, and project management skills

Preferred Qualifications

Workday Security certification
Consulting experience
Experience supporting Workday migrations and enhancement working sessions
