Human Resource Generalist

Express Employment LAX is looking for an HR Generalist for a material manufacturer in Gardena serving the automotive, aerospace, and various chemical and industrial companies. The HR Generalist will support the day-to-day human resources operations at the plant which employs approximately 65 employees across multiple shifts. This position serves as the primary HR contact for employees and management, providing guidance and support across a broad range of HR functions, including employee relations, recruitment, onboarding, compliance, benefits, and employee engagement. The HR Generalist will partner closely with plant leadership to foster a positive, compliant, and productive work environment.

Pay Rate: $70K-100K annually

Job Description for HR Generalist:

Assist managers with employee relations issues by providing guidance, coaching, and support.
Maintain confidentiality while handling sensitive employee information.
Perform routine HR transactions in ADP, including Promotions, Transfers, Employee status changes, Terminations/ Layoffs, Data updates
Maintain HR records in compliance with company policies and employment laws.
Coordinate staffing efforts for hourly manufacturing positions.
Partner with manufacturing managers and local staffing agencies to fill open positions.
Track temporary employee hours and approve staffing agency invoices.
Coordinate the onboarding process for hourly employees.
Initiate background checks and drug screenings.
Request employee badges and network access.
Serve as a resource for employee questions regarding benefits and HR policies.
Assist with annual Open Enrollment activities.
Support leave administration and other employee programs as assigned.
Coordinate employee engagement activities such as service anniversary recognition Employee appreciation.

Requirements for HR Generalist:

High school diploma or GED.
Minimum of three (5) years of Human Resources experience.
Advanced knowledge of HRIS systems, reporting, and benefits administration.
Payroll experience and managing timecards
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, and
PowerPoint.
Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to manage confidential information with discretion.
Ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Preferred

Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
Two (3) or more years of Human Resources experience in a manufacturing or warehouse environment.
Bilingual in English and Spanish.
