Full Job Description

We are looking for a creative, highly online Video Editor who understands what makes people stop scrolling, keep watching, and engage.

You will take footage that has already been filmed and transform it into sharp, engaging, platform-ready content for multiple brands. Because each brand has its own personality, audience, and visual identity, you should be comfortable moving between different tones and aesthetics while keeping every edit polished, current, and intentional.

This role is ideal for someone who naturally keeps up with internet culture, understands the pacing and visual language of today’s social platforms, and can recognize an emerging format or editing trend before it becomes overused.

You will receive creative direction and brand guidelines, but we are looking for someone who can also think independently, identify what an edit needs, and make strong creative decisions without requiring step-by-step instructions.

What You’ll Do

Edit pre-filmed footage into polished videos for TikTok, Instagram Reels, YouTube Shorts, paid social, websites, and other digital platforms
Create engaging hooks, captions, cuts, transitions, sound choices, and pacing that hold viewers’ attention
Adapt your editing style across multiple brands, industries, audiences, and creative directions
Stay closely connected to current social media trends, sounds, formats, memes, and editing techniques
Introduce fresh creative ideas while ensuring content remains aligned with each brand’s identity
Manage multiple projects and deadlines without sacrificing quality or attention to detail
Review footage and independently identify the strongest moments, storylines, and opportunities
Collaborate with the creative and marketing teams while owning your edits from start to finish
Incorporate feedback quickly, thoughtfully, and accurately
Communicate proactively about project status, questions, or potential delays
Organize project files and maintain consistent editing workflows

What We’re Looking For

A strong portfolio of edited video content; social-first and short-form work is especially valued
Proficiency in CapCut, Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, After Effects, or comparable editing software
A strong understanding of TikTok, Instagram Reels, YouTube Shorts, and how audiences consume content on each platform
Genuine fluency in current internet culture, visual trends, online humor, music, and emerging content formats
A natural instinct for what feels current, engaging, and shareable
The ability to deliver fast turnarounds without sacrificing quality
Strong attention to detail, including captions, timing, audio, formatting, and brand consistency
The ability to work independently and manage your workload without close supervision
Experience balancing multiple brands, clients, or creative projects at the same time
Clear communication skills and a positive, collaborative approach to feedback
Reliability, accountability, and consistent follow-through

We care more about your creative instincts, portfolio, and understanding of digital content than a specific degree or number of years in the industry.

The right person is curious, resourceful, comfortable experimenting, and genuinely excited about the constantly changing world of social media. You should be the kind of person who notices a new editing format, sound, or content style early and immediately starts thinking about how it could be adapted for a brand.

Location and Schedule

Fully remote position open to candidates located anywhere in the United States
Part-time to start, with the opportunity to grow into a full-time position
Flexible working location with dependable availability and consistent communication during agreed-upon hours
Candidates must have access to a reliable computer, internet connection, and the software necessary to complete professional video edits
