Full Job Description

Patient Coordinator & Insurance Verifier –

We are seeking a highly organized and customer-focused Patient Coordinator & Insurance Verifier to join our dental team. This dual-role position is responsible for providing exceptional patient service while ensuring accurate insurance verification and benefit coordination. The ideal candidate will serve as a key liaison between patients, providers, and insurance companies, helping create a seamless patient experience from scheduling through treatment completion.

Key ResponsibilitiesPatient Coordination

Greet and assist patients in a friendly, professional manner.
Schedule, confirm, and manage patient appointments.
Coordinate treatment plans and follow-up care.
Answer incoming calls and respond to patient inquiries.
Maintain accurate patient records and demographic information.
Discuss treatment recommendations, financial arrangements, and payment options.
Manage recall and reactivation programs to maintain patient retention.
Collect and post patient payments as needed.

Insurance Verification

Verify patient eligibility and dental insurance benefits prior to appointments.
Contact insurance carriers to confirm coverage, deductibles, co-pays, annual maximums, waiting periods, and treatment limitations.
Document insurance information accurately in the practice management system.
Identify preauthorization requirements and coverage restrictions.
Communicate estimated patient financial responsibility to patients and staff.
Assist with claim follow-up and resolution of insurance discrepancies.
Ensure compliance with HIPAA and confidentiality regulations.

Required Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent.
Minimum 1–2 years of experience in a dental office, healthcare office, patient coordination, insurance verification, or related administrative role.
Knowledge of dental terminology and dental insurance plans.
Experience with dental practice management software such as Dentrix, Eaglesoft, Open Dental, or similar systems.
Strong customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
Ability to multitask and prioritize responsibilities in a fast-paced environment.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Word, and Excel.
Understanding of HIPAA regulations and patient confidentiality requirements.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with treatment plan presentation and financial coordination.
Knowledge of dental billing, claim submission, preauthorizations, and insurance appeals.
Bilingual skills are a plus.

Schedule:

Full-time, four-day work week (approx. 35 hours)
Monday–Thursday: 7:30 AM – 5:00 PM
Friday: 7:30 AM – 2:00 PM (Alternating Mondays and Fridays off)
There is the possibility for increased hours in the future.
