Full Job Description

Broadview IP LAW is an intellectual property law firm located in Irvine, California, focusing on IP prosecution for innovative inventors, universities, research institutes, and companies around the world. Our professionals have years of experience and in-depth expertise in preparing and prosecuting patent applications, improving the quality of intellectual property submissions, building and managing valuable patent portfolios, and successfully commercializing and licensing IP portfolios. We are seeking a registered patent attorney with experience and expertise in patent prosecution to join our fast-growing IP law firm.

Responsibilities:

Drafting, preparing, and reviewing patent applications
Responding to communications (e.g., Office Actions) from the U.S. and foreign patent offices
Conducting examiner interviews
Drafting, preparing, and reviewing trademark applications
Preparing litigation documents and supporting litigation as needed, including for IPR proceedings
Reviewing and preparing licensing documents
Communicating with foreign counsel as needed and reviewing and revising received documents
Completing consultation calls and engaging in meetings with prospective clients
Participating in team meetings and client consultations
Performing patentability analysis, infringement analysis, invalidity analysis, and patent due diligence
Utilizing internal software systems to manage projects and workload
Managing docket, meeting deadlines, and producing results
Assisting with domestic and international business development

Qualifications:

5+ years of patent prosecution practice
Patent litigation/licensing experience is a plus
Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Computer Science or Electrical Engineering
Wireless technology experience is a plus
Admission to practice before the USPTO and the California bar
Strong oral and written communication skills

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $160,000.00 - $230,000.00 per year
