Summary:

Wood Herron & Evans LLP is seeking a Patent Attorney with an Electrical Engineering / Physics background for a position in its Electrical patent preparation and prosecution practice.

Responsibilities:

Prepare patent applications.
Evaluate and respond to office actions (US and international).
Opinion work.
Participate in client and Patent Examiner interviews.
Conduct legal research,
Be exposed to litigation activities as well as other activities/projects.

Qualifications:

Our ideal candidate will have the following:

Three (3) or more years' patent preparation and prosecution experience required.
JD from accredited law school required.
Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering or Physics (or related) required.
Admission to the United States Patent & Trademark Office (USPTO) and /or the State of Ohio Bar (other state registrations will be considered).

Required licenses or certifications:

State Bar
USPTO

Law school and undergrad transcripts
Names and contact information for three references (reference letters are not required), at least two of whom should be familiar with the applicant’s legal research and writing skills.
