Full Job Description

Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated mental health interns to join our dynamic mental health team. In this vital role, you will provide evidence-based psychotherapy and counseling services to diverse populations, including children, adolescents, adults, and seniors. Your expertise will help clients navigate mental health challenges, develop coping strategies, and achieve their personal goals. This position offers opportunities for professional growth within a supportive environment that values innovation, cultural competence, and holistic care. Whether working in outpatient clinics, inpatient settings, or via telehealth platforms, you will play a crucial role in promoting mental wellness and resilience.

Duties

Conduct comprehensive patient assessments and diagnostic evaluations utilizing ICD-9 and ICD-10 coding systems to ensure accurate clinical documentation.
Deliver individual, group, and family therapy sessions employing modalities such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), psychodynamic therapy, EMDR, Internal Family Systems (IFS) and play therapy.
Implement crisis intervention strategies to manage acute mental health episodes effectively and ensure client safety.
Utilize motivational interviewing techniques to foster client engagement and facilitate behavior change.
Provide specialized counseling for issues such as grief, trauma (including PTSD), addiction, gender identity concerns, and working with individuals with ADD/ADHD or autism spectrum disorder.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop personalized treatment plans aligned with clients’ needs and goals.
Maintain HIPAA-compliant medical records and document all clinical interactions thoroughly using standardized medical terminology.
Offer telehealth services utilizing secure platforms to expand access to care while adhering to best practices in virtual patient management.
Engage in case management activities including patient care coordination, discharge planning, and follow-up assessments.

Qualifications

Graduate Degree or in the midst of pursuing
Experience working with children and families is highly preferred
Excellent communication skills combined with a compassionate approach to client care; ability to collaborate within multidisciplinary teams is essential.
Knowledge of HIPAA regulations related to medical records management; experience documenting clinical notes accurately using appropriate medical terminology.
