Job Overview

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Lab Technician Intern to join our research and testing laboratory of construction materials. This paid internship offers an exciting opportunity for students passionate about scientific research, laboratory procedures, and technical proficiency to gain hands-on experience in a dynamic academic environment. As a Lab Tech Intern, you will support various laboratory activities, assist with experiments, and ensure compliance with safety and quality standards. This role is ideal for individuals eager to develop their skills in laboratory techniques, data collection, and research processes within a supportive educational setting.

Duties

Assist our scientists in laboratory experiments involving microscopy, chemical analysis, and sample preparation under supervision.
Support quality control processes by maintaining accurate records of experiments and results.
Follow laboratory safety protocols, including chemical handling safety procedures and sterile techniques.
Prepare laboratory samples, reagents, and solutions using proper procedures to ensure integrity and accuracy.
Operate and maintain laboratory instruments and equipment, ensuring proper calibration and cleanliness.

Requirements

Currently enrolled in a college program related to biology, chemistry, veterinary science, or a similar field.
Basic understanding of laboratory techniques.
Familiarity with laboratory safety standards and chemical handling procedures.
Strong attention to detail with excellent record keeping skills in laboratory research settings.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications such as Word and Excel for data documentation.
Ability to follow detailed instructions accurately while working independently or as part of a team.
Prior experience in a laboratory environment is a plus but not required; enthusiasm to learn is essential.
