Full Job Description

GSG Talent Solutions is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Investigator V to join our team. This role is critical in conducting preliminary intake reviews and evaluating reports of misconduct to ensure compliance with state requirements and unit procedures.

The ideal candidate will possess a strong investigative background and the ability to handle a high volume of sensitive information with professionalism and accuracy.

Position Overview

Location: Austin, TX (Hybrid)
Employment Type: Full-Time
Expected Duration: May 11, 2026 – August 31, 2026
Pay Level: Experienced

Key Responsibilities

As an Investigator V, you will be responsible for the following:

Preliminary Intake: Evaluate reported misconduct for completeness, credibility, and jurisdiction according to established requirements.
Evidence Collection: Contact school districts and reporting parties to clarify or obtain additional records and information.
Documentation Review: Analyze incident reports, personnel records, and investigative summaries to identify key facts and follow-up needs.
Determination & Rational: Make intake determinations (e.g., proceed to investigation or close/no action) and document the rationale per policy.
Internal/External Referrals: Make timely referrals to legal, investigative units, or outside agencies to ensure student safety and compliance.

Required Skills & Qualifications

Investigative Expertise: Demonstrated experience in conducting investigations and complaint reviews.
Regulatory Knowledge: Working knowledge of state and federal laws (e.g., Texas Penal Code, Education Code, Family Code, and Administrative Code) regarding child abuse, solicitation, misconduct, and confidentiality.
Communication: Effective written and oral communication skills.
Organization: Excellent prioritization and time management skills in a fast-paced environment.
Compliance: Ability to pass a DPS Criminal Background Check to access sensitive criminal history.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience reviewing allegations of abuse, solicitation, or violations impacting students.
Experience working in high-volume environments.
Proficiency with Smartsheet and SharePoint.
