Full Job Description

IT Training Project Manager

Location: Remote (Must reside in the National Capital Region)

Clearance: Secret (required)

Travel: Semi-annual up to 20% during onsite training cycles

Customer: DoD

We are seeking an IT Training Project Manager to support a high-visibility DoD program. This role plays a critical part in developing, managing, and delivering training focused on handling active investigations, complaints, and compliance-related operational processes.

You will lead and assess the ROI of projects, defining a clear scope, estimating in a rational manner, managing stakeholder expectations, curriculum strategy driven by the Agency’s investigative onboarding process, which directly impacts mission readiness and workforce capability.

The ideal candidate is a seasoned IT project manager who is highly engaging, working very closely with government POC’s to ensure clear scheduling objectives and curriculum rollout of planned training programs alongside the Senior Training Project Manager. You will function as a technical expert, understanding and translating the government’s needs as it relates to our platform a virtual learning experience technology SaSS provided to the customer.

Key Responsibilities

IT Training Project Manager

Design, develop, and maintain onboarding programs, cross-training initiatives, and curriculum updates driven by new policies, IT system changes, or mission needs.
Create and maintain training syllabi, course guides, lesson plans, and certification materials.
Track and maintain training records, ensuring compliance with all DoD training requirements.
Lead continuous improvement efforts to elevate training quality, operational readiness, and contract performance.
Technical Awareness: Understanding IT concepts, software development lifecycles (SDLC), and modern IT infrastructure like Cloud platforms.
Project Management Methodologies: Proficiency in Agile/Scrum or traditional Waterfall approaches.
Support site-specific and agency-specific training initiatives across client organizations.
Coordinate logistics, scheduling, communications, and materials for training events.

Training Compliance and Quality Assurance

Identify workforce skill gaps and recommend enhancements to strengthen operational capability.
Ensure all curriculum and delivery meets quality, compliance, and documentation standards.

Training Schedule Planning and Training Coordination

Lead the planning, coordination, and execution of monthly training schedules, onboarding timelines, and certification cycles.
Manage training calendars, release schedules, comms blasts, and distribution of training materials.

Leadership and Collaboration

Shape and execute a cohesive training strategy aligned with mission readiness and operational objectives.
Collaborate with management, SMEs, and client stakeholders to design, refine, and validate training content.
Serve as a senior advisor to the Senior Training Project Manager and CEO.
Attend Customer Sprint Cycle Meetings, understand agency requirements and translate those onboarding requirements to the larger training team.
Build rapport with stakeholders and set expectations by communicating next steps, knowledge, and insights to the team from start to finish.
IT project managers functions internally as a Project Manager of planned system upgrades in collaboration with Gabriel Enterprise CTO, and CMMC compliance teams to ensure customer product growth.

Required Qualifications

Active Secret clearance (required).
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Education, Instructional Design, or related field. Project Management Professional (PMP) or Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM)
Scrum Master certification is highly a plus.
5–8 years required experience in project management, IT operations, or Learning & Development (L&D)
5+ years developing training for software/system implementations or technology adoption programs.
5+ years’ experience using Microsoft SharePoint
Experience with course authoring software like Adobe Captivate and Articulate Storyline 360, Camtasia
Experience conducting training needs assessments, gap analyses, audits, and curriculum reviews.
Strong oral and written communication skills, including facilitation and executive-level briefing experience.
Strong organizational and leadership abilities, with proven success managing complex training schedules and multi-group coordination.
Must reside in the National Capital Region and be able to travel up to 20% during training cycles.
Proficiency with LMS platforms and Microsoft Office Suite.
