At GrowthZone, your mission is our mission.
We build modern, all-in-one software that empowers associations to grow faster, engage members more deeply, and operate more efficiently. As the leading platform for member-based organizations — chambers of commerce, trade associations, professional societies, and nonprofits — we serve thousands of customers across North America through two purpose-built products: GrowthZone AMS for SMB-sized associations and MemberSuite for larger, more complex organizations.
We're privately held, profitable, and deeply rooted in the verticals we serve. Our platform handles the full operational stack — billing, communication, websites, events, reporting, and more — backed by a team that genuinely understands what associations need to thrive.
The Integrations Engineer is responsible for designing, building, and maintaining the integration layer that connects GrowthZone’s platform with third-party applications, association management tools, payment processors, and customer data systems. This role sits at the intersection of product, engineering, and customer success — translating complex technical requirements into reliable, scalable integration solutions that directly impact member experience and organizational efficiency.
Integration Design & Development
- Architect and implement integrations between GrowthZone and third-party platforms including payment processors, CRMs, email marketing tools, accounting systems, and event platforms
- Design RESTful APIs, webhook frameworks, and data pipelines that enable reliable, bidirectional data flow between GrowthZone and customer systems
- Build and maintain an integration library of reusable connectors, reducing time-to-deploy for common customer configurations
- Evaluate and implement iPaaS tools and middleware where appropriate to streamline integration delivery
Customer & Stakeholder Collaboration
- Partner with Customer Success and Implementation teams to gather integration requirements from chambers and associations and translate them into technical specifications
- Serve as a technical resource during pre-sales and onboarding for customers with complex integration needs
- Educate non-technical stakeholders on integration capabilities, limitations, and best practices
Quality, Security & Compliance
- Implement security best practices for data exchange including OAuth 2.0, API key management, and encrypted data transfer to protect sensitive member data
- Ensure integrations comply with relevant data privacy regulations and association industry standards
- Conduct performance testing and optimization to maintain system reliability at scale
Documentation & Support
- Create and maintain comprehensive technical documentation for all integrations, including architecture diagrams, API references, and runbooks
- Produce end-user-facing integration guides accessible to non-technical association staff
- Provide Tier 2/3 support for integration-related incidents, diagnosing root causes and implementing durable fixes
- Monitor integration health via logging and alerting, proactively identifying and resolving issues before they impact customers
Platform & Ecosystem Development
- Contribute to the evolution of GrowthZone’s public API strategy, including versioning, deprecation planning, and developer documentation
- Evaluate emerging integration technologies and recommend adoption where they improve customer outcomes or engineering efficiency
- Collaborate with Product and Engineering leadership to inform the integration roadmap based on customer demand and market trends
- 3+ years of experience in a software integration, API engineering, or platform engineering role
- Strong proficiency with RESTful API design, JSON/XML data formats, and webhook patterns
- Hands-on experience with integration platforms or iPaaS tools (e.g., MuleSoft, Boomi, Zapier, Workato, or similar)
- Solid understanding of authentication and authorization standards including OAuth 2.0, SAML, and API key management
- Proficiency in at least one server-side language (Python, Node.js, Java, or similar)
- Experience with cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and containerized deployment
- Demonstrated ability to write clear technical documentation for both engineering and non-technical audiences
- Strong problem-solving skills with a track record of diagnosing and resolving complex integration failures
- Experience with CRM software and/or membership management, association management (AMS), or nonprofit software ecosystems
- Familiarity with payment processing integrations (Stripe, PayPal, Authorize.net) and PCI compliance considerations
- Prior experience in a PE-backed SaaS environment or high-growth technology company
- Exposure to event-driven architecture and message queue systems (Kafka, RabbitMQ, SQS)
- Experience working in an Agile/Scrum development environment
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience)
In the first 90 days, you will have mapped GrowthZone’s existing integration architecture, established relationships with key Customer Success and Implementation stakeholders, and delivered at least one meaningful integration improvement or new connector. Within six months, you will own the integration layer end-to-end, have documented standards in place, and be actively contributing to the integration roadmap.
