Please be aware that this position may require you to be ready in 3 days notice.

Are you able to pass a drug test?

Are you able to work 7 days a week for 16 hour days?

Can you get yourself to SEATTLE?

Can you work in sub-zero temperatures and lift/carry 50-77 lbs?

Ocean Peace is accepting applications for seafood processors to work on factory trawlers fishing in the Gulf of Alaska and the Bering Sea. We are looking for entry level and experienced crew members to work on board our vessels. This position requires a 75 day commitment and an understanding that working conditions onboard the vessels are difficult, strenuous and sometimes hazardous and that working hours are long. THIS IS A VERY PHYSICAL JOB. Please consider these factors before making the decision to apply.

Must be able to understand English for safety reasons.

We participate in the E-Verify Program.

No previous experience required. Work experience in labor intense industries such as agriculture, farming, manufacturing, landscaping, construction, commercial fishing, and oil field are highly preferred.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS FOR THE POSITION

All employees must be able to:

Board and exit the vessel by gangplank or Jacob’s ladder without assistance.
Board or exit a skiff without assistance in all weather conditions.
Ascend and descend steep stairways and ladders in all temperatures.
Work at least 16 hours per day, seven days per week for the duration of the contract.
Perform repetitive tasks for extended periods
Lift weights up to and over 50 pounds for full range from floor to above the head repeatedly
Must have full use of both hands, use fingers, hands and arms to push, pull and reach.
Work long hours in all kinds of weather.
Work in a cold and wet environment.
Don life jacket, life vest, and survival suit without assistance.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS

All employees must be able to:

Hear, understand, and follow instructions, directions, safety rules and procedures
Live and work with others in close quarters.
Be away from medical care and supervision for 3+ months at a time.
Share crew quarters, bathroom facilities, and common dining areas with other crew members.
Must be able to pass pre-employment and random drug tests per USCG regulations.
