Full Job Description

Job Overview
Join our vibrant team as a Child Care Cook, where your culinary talents will create nourishing, delicious meals that support the health and well-being of children in our care. This role offers an exciting opportunity to combine your passion for food with your dedication to nurturing young minds. You will be responsible for preparing and serving nutritious meals, planning menus that meet dietary needs, and maintaining a safe, clean kitchen environment. Your enthusiasm and culinary expertise will help foster a positive dining experience that promotes growth and development.

Duties

Prepare and cook balanced, kid-friendly meals and snacks in accordance with approved menus and dietary guidelines
Plan weekly menus that incorporate nutritional standards, variety, and appealing presentation for children of different ages
Ensure all food handling and preparation practices adhere to strict food safety regulations and sanitation standards
Assist with food service, including serving meals in a timely manner and ensuring proper portioning
Maintain cleanliness of kitchen areas, utensils, and equipment through regular cleaning routines
Monitor inventory levels of food supplies, place orders as needed, and manage storage to prevent spoilage or contamination
Collaborate with childcare staff to accommodate special dietary requirements or allergies

Requirements

Prior experience in dietary departments or as a dietary aide is highly preferred
Strong background in food preparation, cooking, and menu planning within a food service setting
Knowledge of food safety protocols, proper food handling techniques, and sanitation standards
Experience working in fine dining or restaurant environments is advantageous for high-quality presentation skills
Demonstrated proficiency with culinary tools such as knives and other kitchen equipment
Ability to prepare meals efficiently while maintaining high standards of quality and safety
Excellent organizational skills to manage meal schedules, inventory, and cleanliness effectively
