Lead Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT)

ASPIRE VETERINARY CENTER is looking to hire an experienced Lead Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) to join our team (full-time)

About Us: Aspire Veterinary Center is a low-volume, high-workup veterinary practice. We pride ourselves on taking the time to investigate complex cases and providing exceptionally thorough, comprehensive care to our patients. Because we prioritize quality over quantity, our team is able to focus deeply on each patient's individual needs. To ensure we are consistently delivering the gold standard of care under one roof, we seamlessly integrate a dedicated roster of board-certified specialists including dentist, cardiologist, internist, surgeon, and criticalist directly into our clinical flow.

The Role: We are seeking a highly detail-oriented Lead Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) to join our team. This unique leadership role offers a dynamic mixture of hands-on clinical medicine and administrative responsibilities. You will be the clinical backbone of our practice, requiring you to seamlessly transition between complex patient workups, assisting with specialist cases, and managing the essential administrative tasks that keep our clinic running efficiently. We are also specifically looking for an RVT with advanced dentistry skills to expertly manage our dental procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

Advanced Dentistry: Spearhead our dental procedures. Must be highly proficient in taking diagnostic dental radiographs (X-rays) and performing dental extractions (in accordance with state veterinary medical board regulations).
High-Level Patient Care: Perform advanced nursing duties including IV catheter placement, phlebotomy, complex medication administration, and monitoring for in-depth medical workups alongside our DVMs and specialist partners.
Surgical Assistance & Anesthesia: Induce, monitor, and recover patients safely from general anesthesia for a variety of surgical and dental procedures.
Leadership & Mentorship: Direct daily operations, manage technician workflow, and ensure smooth transitions between appointments. Train and mentor veterinary assistants.
Meticulous Record Keeping: Ensure all medical records, specialist referrals, laboratory requests, and treatment sheets are exceptionally accurate and complete.
Clinic Administration: Oversee the ordering of supplies, maintain inventory logs, and ensure surgical and dental equipment (X-ray sensors, handpieces) are in excellent working condition.
Client Communication: Educate clients comprehensively on complex treatment plans, post-operative care, and ongoing case management.

Required Qualifications:

Attention to Detail: Must be highly detail-oriented, with a proven ability to manage complex medical information and administrative tasks accurately.
Experience: A minimum of 7 years of hands-on clinical experience as a Veterinary Technician.
Licensing: Must hold an active and unencumbered Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) license in California.
Specialized Clinical Skills: Proven, verifiable expertise in capturing clear dental X-rays and performing dental extractions.
Leadership & Admin Skills: Previous experience in a shift lead, training, or management role, with a strong aptitude for administrative organization and workflow management.
