Full Job Description

The Council for Homeopathic Certification is seeking a part-time, remote Office Administrator to support the daily operations of our nonprofit professional organization. This role is ideal for a reliable, organized, and service-oriented individual who can provide excellent communication, administrative support, and customer service to the organization, homeopathic professionals, applicants, certificate holders, and the public.

CHC OFFICE ADMINISTRATOR: JOB DESCRIPTION

1. Part-time Office Administrator for a Nonprofit Professional Organization in Alternative Medicine

Office Administrator for a non-profit, professional organization in alternative medicine (Homeopathy)
Location: Remote, continental US.

2. The Council for Homeopathic Certification

Founded in 1991 the Council for Homeopathic Certification provides the only third-party certification of medical and non-medical homeopathic practitioners in the United States. The CHC’s primary mission is to certify classical homeopaths and see homeopathic practice become an accepted and widely available health care option for Americans. The practical focus of the organization is the creation and administration of the only third-party accredited, professional exam for homeopaths in the US.

3. Role Summary

The Office Administrator is an essential role for the functioning of this non-profit organization, which is mostly staffed by volunteers.
The Office Administrator reports to the CHC President and the CHC Board, with day to day direction from the CHC President.
This position provides the opportunity to become involved with the growth of one of the oldest and most vital forms of alternative medicine in North America.
This remote position is for 10 hours a week @ $20/hr. Occasionally, a week will require more hours. These will generally be anticipated well in advance. Any week in which the hours exceed 30 hours, the additional hours over 30 will be compensated at $30/hr. Training and study time on CHC policy and basic knowledge of homeopathy will be compensated at the base rate.
CHC’s Official Office Hours are 12-2 pm EST Monday-Friday.

4. Essential Responsibilities

Providing support for CHC Projects, including support for the CHC Board and its committees:

Performing data entry for applicants, exam candidates, certificate holders, recertification, and organizational records.
Updating website content as directed, including pages, forms, announcements, directory information, and resource materials.
Supporting CHC’s exam management software, certificant management systems, and related administrative platforms as directed by the CHC President.
Assisting with candidate communication, eligibility tracking, scheduling support, and documentation.
Maintaining accurate certificant records, directory listings, renewal information, and recertification documentation.
Learning and using CHC’s internal systems, policies, and software platforms to support organizational operations.

Fielding calls and emails regarding:

Exam eligibility and Exam scheduling.
Website operation and user support.
Recertification of Certificate holders.
Certificate Holders’ Directory information and updating.
Handling official email and written correspondence and mailings as necessary.
Responding to missed calls, voicemails and texts within 24-48 business hours.

5. Qualifications & Requirements

The ability to project a consistently positive, patient, and respectful demeanor in response to inquiries from homeopathic professionals, the public, and the press.

Education & Experience:

HS diploma or some college coursework. Associate or Bachelor’s degree preferred.
Five years minimum working with the public in a customer service role or related work.

6. Compensation, Benefits & Application

Salary & Perks: $20/hr, 10hrs per week. Two weeks unpaid vacation each year.
