LEGAL ASSITANT

Starting Salary: $40,000 – $45,000 annually, Depending on qualifications and experience.

Benefits: Medical, Dental, 401K

Position: Full-Time Legal Assistant –This is an in-person position. Remote or hybrid work is not available.

Job Description

Nwokocha & Operana Law Offices is seeking to hire a Legal Assistant interested in joining our legal team. We are a fast-paced immigration firm dedicated to making a meaningful difference in the lives of our clients. We value teamwork, professionalism, and compassion. Minimum Qualifications:

Fluent in both Spanish and English (written and spoken).
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Proficient with Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail.
Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize work in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to interact with clients compassionately, professionally, and respectfully, particularly in sensitive situations.
Experience with people of culturally diverse backgrounds, diverse economic culture, customer service experience, ability to withhold and keep confidential information.
Prior administrative, legal, or customer service experience is preferred but not required.

Job Duties:

Answer and direct incoming telephone calls in a professional and courteous manner.
Receive, sort, and process incoming and outgoing mail and deliveries.
Serve as a Spanish-English interpreter for attorney-client meetings and telephone calls, as needed.
Prepare, organize, scan, and maintain client files and legal documents, both electronically and in paper format.
Schedule client consultations, meetings, and appointments.
Maintain and coordinate attorneys' calendars, including court hearings and deadlines.
Update client information and case status in the firm's electronic case management system.
Assist attorneys and paralegals with administrative and case-related tasks.
Perform other administrative and office duties as assigned.

Pay: $40,000.00 - $45,000.00 per year
