Position: Paralegal/Legal Assistant
Location: North Raleigh, NC

We are a respected family law firm located in North Raleigh, serving Wake County and surrounding counties. Our team is dedicated to providing compassionate, detail-oriented, and effective legal support to our clients. We are seeking a skilled and experienced Paralegal or Legal Assistant to join our team and contribute to our mission of delivering exceptional legal services.

Job Description

We are looking for an experienced Paralegal or Legal Assistant with a background in family law or civil litigation. Prior experience working within Wake County courts is strongly preferred. This role involves working closely with attorneys, clients, and court staff to manage case files, prepare legal documents, and ensure the smooth operation of our office.

Responsibilities

Draft and prepare legal documents, including pleadings, motions, subpoenas, and discovery.
Manage and organize case files.
Assist attorneys with trial preparation, including preparing exhibits and organizing case materials.
Conduct legal and non-legal research as needed.
Coordinate and schedule client meetings, court appearances, and other case-related appointments.
Communicate professionally with clients, court staff, opposing counsel, and other parties.
File documents electronically in Wake County.
Monitor case deadlines and maintain an organized calendar of court dates and legal timelines.
Assist with administrative tasks, including correspondence, billing, and timekeeping.

Qualifications

Minimum of three years of experience as a Paralegal, Legal Assistant, clerk or officer within the court system with family law or civil litigation experience preferred.
Prior experience working in Wake County courts is highly desirable.
Paralegal certification or Associate’s degree preferred; equivalent experience considered.
Strong knowledge of family law procedures, terminology, and court processes.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and case management software.
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Discretion and professionalism when handling sensitive client information and working with sensitive clients.
