Full Job Description

A respected healthcare organization is seeking an experienced and compassionate Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) to support the clinical leadership team at one of our skilled nursing communities. This confidential opportunity is ideal for a licensed nurse who is passionate about resident care, developing clinical teams, and ensuring regulatory excellence.

We welcome applications from both Registered Nurses (RN) and Licensed Vocational Nurses (LVN) with strong leadership experience in a skilled nursing or long-term care setting.

Position Overview

The Assistant Director of Nursing partners with the Director of Nursing to oversee the daily operations of the nursing department. This leadership role is responsible for supporting quality clinical outcomes, maintaining regulatory compliance, mentoring nursing staff, and promoting a culture of compassionate, resident-centered care.

The ideal candidate is an organized clinical leader who thrives in a collaborative environment and is committed to delivering exceptional care while developing and supporting frontline nursing teams.

Key Responsibilities

Assist in overseeing the daily clinical operations of the nursing department.
Support the Director of Nursing with staff supervision, scheduling, coaching, and performance management.
Promote high-quality resident care by ensuring compliance with individualized care plans and nursing best practices.
Monitor clinical documentation for accuracy, completeness, and regulatory compliance.
Assist with survey readiness, quality assurance initiatives, and implementation of corrective action plans.
Collaborate with physicians, interdisciplinary teams, residents, and families to support positive clinical outcomes.
Participate in infection prevention, risk management, and quality improvement programs.
Assist with orientation, education, and ongoing development of nursing staff.
Participate in on-call rotation as assigned.
Help foster a positive workplace culture focused on teamwork, accountability, and resident satisfaction.
Perform other leadership responsibilities as assigned.

QualificationsEducation

Graduate of an accredited nursing program.

Licensure

Current Texas RN or LVN license in good standing.

Experience

Minimum of 2 years of leadership experience in a skilled nursing, rehabilitation, or long-term care setting preferred.
Experience supervising nursing staff and coordinating clinical operations.
Working knowledge of state and federal long-term care regulations.
Experience with MDS, PDPM, quality measures, or survey preparation is highly desirable.

Excellent communication and conflict resolution skills.
Ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment.
Passion for mentoring staff and promoting clinical excellence.
Strong organizational and critical thinking skills.

Pay: $35.00 - $48.00 per hour
