Full Job Description

Regional Finance Manager

The New Mexico Finance Authority (NMFA) in Santa Fe is seeking a qualified individual for a Regional Finance Manager (RFM) position that will report to the Managing Director, Lending. This position will represent NMFA throughout the state, and will work with private entities, local governments, municipalities, counties, and others to originate and structure loans and grants using NMFA’s financing programs.

The RFM will work with public entities and financial advisors to assist entities in obtaining NMFA financing to meet their community’s needs in effective and efficient ways. The RFM will work with the NMFA Credit Department to perform financial analysis of revenue streams, financial outlooks, and relevant program policies to advise clients of options that prudently address their needs. This position requires in-state travel to meet with clients on an ongoing basis to develop relationships with existing and new clients.

In addition to public entities, the RFM will market and assist in underwriting financing applications for NMFA’s private lending programs such as the State Small Business Credit Initiative (SSBCI) Program, Opportunity Enterprise Commercial and Housing Development programs, and other initiatives created to provide access to capital for businesses and foster statewide economic development.

The NMFA Lending Team works with clients on potential projects, underwrites applications, presents projects to committees and boards for approval, and coordinates the processes leading to closing. Experience marketing lending programs and relationship-building with clients, plus underwriting of technically complex projects, including infrastructure and other multi-phase projects for public entities, for-profit entities, and nonprofit entities is required. An understanding of New Mexico local government financial management methods and procedures is strongly preferred.

NMFA is New Mexico’s partner in building economic prosperity and stronger communities. The ideal candidate will possess experience in accounting, banking, finance, budget management, or a similar field; excellent technical report writing, verbal and written communication skills; a bachelor’s degree in business administration, accounting, finance or related field, and at least five years of relevant experience. This position requires strong presentation skills as financing recommendations are regularly presented to committees and Boards of Directors. The ability to balance multiple projects, analyze large volumes of data, and manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment is required.
