About the Role

A dynamic public charter school in Washington, D.C. is seeking an experienced and strategic Manager of EnrichED to lead all extended-day programming for students in grades 6–12 during the 2026–2027 school year.

This leadership role serves as the primary administrator for after-school programming, including athletics, academic support, enrichment activities, and student clubs. The successful candidate will be responsible for creating engaging opportunities that promote student participation, leadership, academic success, and overall well-being.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced educator or youth development leader who is passionate about creating high-quality student experiences beyond the traditional school day and building systems that drive engagement, achievement, and community.

Key ResponsibilitiesExtended-Day Program Leadership

Lead and oversee all after-school programming, ensuring a safe, structured, and engaging environment for students
Establish and maintain clear expectations for student participation, attendance, behavior, and engagement
Develop systems and procedures that support high-quality daily operations across all EnrichED programs
Create a cohesive extended-day experience aligned with the school's mission and culture

Athletics Leadership and Compliance

Provide strategic leadership and oversight for all middle and high school athletic programs
Ensure compliance with all District of Columbia athletic regulations and eligibility requirements
Supervise and support Athletic Coordinators across multiple campuses
Oversee athletic scheduling, staffing, game logistics, and program quality
Promote a culture of excellence, teamwork, accountability, and sportsmanship

Academic Support and Student Success

Collaborate with school leaders, teachers, and counselors to provide academic support opportunities for students
Design and implement support systems for student-athletes, including study halls, tutoring, and intervention programs
Monitor student-athlete academic performance and attendance
Develop accountability systems to ensure students remain academically eligible and successful

Enrichment Programming and Student Engagement

Develop and oversee a diverse portfolio of enrichment opportunities, clubs, athletics, and academic programming
Expand club offerings based on student interests and community needs
Create systems to increase student recruitment, enrollment, participation, and retention
Utilize participation and engagement data to continuously improve programming

Partnerships and Family Engagement

Develop and maintain partnerships with community organizations and external providers
Coordinate specialized enrichment opportunities and student experiences
Communicate regularly with families regarding programming opportunities, expectations, and student progress
Foster strong family involvement and support for extended-day programming

Staff Leadership and Development

Recruit, supervise, evaluate, and develop EnrichED staff and Athletic Coordinators
Provide coaching, professional development, and performance feedback
Establish clear expectations, responsibilities, and accountability systems for team members

Operations and Program Management

Manage program budgets and resource allocation
Coordinate schedules, staffing plans, facility usage, and program logistics
Ensure effective systems for student safety, dismissal, communication, and incident response
Develop systems for data collection, reporting, and continuous improvement

QualificationsEducation

Bachelor's degree required
Master's degree preferred

Experience

Minimum of five years of experience in education, athletics, youth development, or a related field
Experience leading teams and managing complex programs
Experience overseeing athletics, enrichment programming, or extended-day initiatives preferred

Skills

Strong leadership and organizational skills
Demonstrated ability to build systems and drive measurable outcomes
Strong project management and problem-solving abilities
Experience analyzing data to inform decision-making
Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
Ability to work evenings and occasional weekends

Preferred Qualifications

Experience as an Athletic Director, Dean of Students, Dean of Culture, Assistant Principal, or similar leadership role
Experience supporting student-athletes academically
Experience managing after-school, enrichment, or youth development programs
