About the Role

Intersect Digital is a lean, fast-moving digital agency built on doing exceptional work without bureaucratic overhead. We're growing - actively pursuing anchor clients across verticals - and we need someone who can own the machine that makes delivery possible.

The Operations Lead is how we scale without breaking. You're not a pass-through or a task tracker. You're a decision-maker who sees around corners, flags risk before it becomes a problem, and holds the operational backbone of everything we deliver. As the team grows, you'll manage Project Managers directly. This role has a clear path to Director of Operations.

Fully remote, fully flexible - we hire for output, not attendance. Work from wherever you do your best thinking.

What You Own

Delivery Operations — You own the end-to-end operational health of every active project — timelines, milestones, handoffs, and status visibility. Nothing falls through without you knowing first.
Resource & Utilization Management — You track team capacity, surface conflicts before they become fires, and make sure the right people are on the right work at the right time.
Risk & Scope Management — You flag blockers, scope creep, and timeline slippage early — with a path forward, not just a problem statement. You protect both client and agency interests.
Process & Systems Building — You build how we operate — intake, kickoff, status reporting, handoff protocols. You're not inheriting a playbook; you're writing it.
Budget Visibility — You track against scope and alert leadership when projects are trending off. You're the early warning system, not the accountant.
Team Leadership — As the team grows, you will manage PMs directly. You build the Project Manager function from the ground up and set the standard for how it operates.

What We're Looking For

Agency background is strongly preferred: you understand the pace, the client dynamic, and the difference between good process and bureaucracy.
You're process-obsessed but not rigid. You build systems that serve the work, not the other way around.
You hold people accountable without becoming a bottleneck. You know when to push and when to problem-solve.
You think at the systems level - not just 'how do I manage this project' but 'how should this agency run.'
You communicate like a senior operator - clear, direct, no vagueness about what you need or when.
You're comfortable with ambiguity at a growing company. Intersect is building infrastructure in real time; you'll be part of shaping it.
Experience managing utilization, multi-project timelines, and budget burn reporting is table stakes.
People management experience or clear readiness to lead - you'll be building and leading the PM function.
Familiarity with digital project types - web builds, SEO, content, campaign work - is a strong plus.
