ADJUNCT FACULTY – MATH

DALEY COLLEGE

Richard J. Daley College is located on the southwest side of Chicago. As a City College of Chicago, Daley College offers accessible and affordable opportunities for academic advancement, career development, and personal enrichment. The Advanced Manufacturing College to Careers program is headquartered at Richard J. Daley College.

The Department is currently seeking a Mathematics Adjunct Faculty to teach Fall 2026. Candidates must be available to teach in person at Daley College.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Design courses to meet learning outcomes and promote students’ active participation in their own learning.
Create an effective learning environment that fosters students’ intellectual curiosity and helps students to solve problems using discipline-specific thinking strategies.
Employ a variety of formative and summative assessments to ensure that classroom instruction leads to student learning and the attainment of the student learning outcomes for the course.
Help students reach their academic, personal and career goals and foster a safe environment that respects the diversity of people and ideas by modeling respect for all students and conveying confidence in every student’s ability to learn.
Contribute to and provide leadership in the student’s academic and professional communities and promote collaboration and teamwork among members of these communities.

Qualifications - External

Master’s Degree in Mathematics, Master's in Physics or Master's in Math Education
Knowledge of Brightspace Learning Management System, preferred
Excellent oral and written communication skills and ability to communicate with diverse groups of staff and students required
Experience with a diverse, multilingual student population is desired, as is a commitment to the open access mission of the community college
Must be able and willing to teach in-person

The salary range is the following per contact hour based on education: Master's - $800, Master's +30 - $837, Doctorate/Terminal (including MFA) -$943. Offered salary will be determined by the respective collective bargaining agreement and applicant's education, experience, knowledge, skills and abilities.
