Role
The Mechanical Design Engineer – Gas Lift is an office-based role that functions as a technical engineering resource primarily supporting the division's international sales, engineering, and operations teams.). Primary responsibilities include mechanical design support for gas lift equipment, API standards compliance, and technical input to international sales and customer deliverables
The role does not carry direct sales accountability but is expected to work closely with sales and field teams to. translate product performance requirements into component-level engineering specifications and designs The scope of support covers international markets and may require periodic international travel.
Technical & Application Engineering
· Provide application engineering support for international gas lift installations, including provide engineering design support for gas lift equipment — including side pocket mandrels, gas lift valves, and related downhole completion hardware — covering component specifications, dimensional requirements, material selection, and pressure rating criteria
· Interpret and apply API 19G1, API 19G2, API 5CT, and API 5B standards to product selection, manufacturing review, and customer deliverables.
· Review customer technical requirements and application conditions to ensure gas lift equipment specifications and designs meet performance, pressure, and environmental requirements.
· Develop technical documentation, product specifications, and engineering reference materials to support international sales and customer applications — may present technical content to customers as needed.
· Provide technical engineering input to pre-sales inquiries and post-sales non-conformance resolution as it relates to product design and specification.
Product & Design Support to Commercial Activities
· Provide technical engineering input to international sales proposals and quotations — including equipment specifications, dimensional data, material certifications, and applicable API standard references
· Support identification of design or specification solutions for customer-specific application requirements that fall outside standard product configurations.
Quality, Compliance & Standards
· Ensure all products and services conform to applicable API standards, customer specifications, and Tally Energy Services quality requirements.
· Participate in quality audits, non-conformance reviews, and corrective action processes related to gas lift equipment design and product performance.
· Maintain current working knowledge of API 19G1, API 19G2, API 5CT, and API 5B as standards evolve.
· Ensure engineering drawings, material certifications, and applicable API compliance documentation are complete and accurate for international product releases.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
· Collaborate with manufacturing, quality control, and supply chain teams to ensure gas lift equipment is produced, inspected, and released in accordance with engineering specifications and applicable API standards.
· Interface with manufacturing, QC, and third-party inspection agencies as needed for international product certifications.
