Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Nursing Home Biller to join our healthcare administrative team. In this vital role, you will manage the billing process for nursing home services, ensuring accurate and timely submission of claims to insurance companies, Medicare, Medicaid, and other payers. Your expertise will help streamline revenue cycle management, improve cash flow, and support the overall financial health of our facility. Duties

Prepare and submit accurate medical claims using billing software, ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations and payer requirements.
Review medical records and documentation to verify proper coding, including DRG (Diagnosis-Related Group), CPT (Current Procedural Terminology), ICD-9, and ICD-10 codes.
Manage accounts receivable by following up on unpaid or denied claims through medical collection efforts.
Collaborate with clinical staff to ensure all documentation supports billing accuracy and completeness.
Maintain detailed records of billing activities within EMR (Electronic Medical Records) and EHR (Electronic Health Records) systems.
Reconcile billing discrepancies and resolve patient or insurance inquiries promptly with excellent customer service skills.
Stay current on healthcare claims management policies, health insurance procedures, and coding updates to ensure compliance.

Skills

Proficiency in medical billing software and Microsoft Office applications.
Experience with EMR/EHR systems used in healthcare facilities for accurate recordkeeping.
Understanding of healthcare claims management processes and health insurance policies.
Excellent attention to detail to ensure precise coding and billing accuracy.
Effective communication skills for interacting with insurance companies, patients, and clinical staff.
Familiarity with medical terminology, medical records management, and healthcare regulations.
