Full Job Description

Freelance Merchandise Sourcing Specialist

Craft Brewery | Contract/Freelance | Onsite or Remote

About the Role

We're looking for a creative, detail-oriented freelancer to lead the sourcing of branded merchandise for our brewery. This person will own the process from concept to shelf — research quality wholesale suppliers, build supplier relationships, collaborate with our artists, and deliver a curated line of merch that reflects our brand and sells well in our taprooms.

Responsibilities

Collaborate with our artists to design original graphics, logos, and artwork adaptations for merchandise applications (high quality apparel, drinkware, headwear, accessories, etc.)
Research and vet manufacturers/suppliers for quality, pricing, minimum order quantities, and turnaround times
Source blank goods and printing/embroidery partners (domestic and/or overseas as appropriate)
Negotiate collaborations with brand appropriate apparel and outdoor gear companies
Request and evaluate samples for quality control before committing to production runs
Develop a merchandise assortment plan (product mix, price points, seasonal/limited releases)
Negotiate pricing and terms with vendors to protect margins
Manage timelines from design approval through delivery to brewery locations
Ensure all designs comply with brand guidelines and any required alcohol-marketing regulations
Present concepts and mockups to brewery leadership for approval at key milestones
Provide print-ready files and spec sheets for each approved product

Qualifications

Portfolio demonstrating apparel/merchandise design (please include with application)
Experience sourcing physical products and working with manufacturers or print vendors
Familiarity with printing/decoration methods (screen print, embroidery, DTG, sublimation, etc.) and their design constraints
Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator/Photoshop or equivalent
Strong vendor negotiation and project management skills
Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
Craft beer industry or hospitality brand experience a plus, not required

Engagement Details

Format: Freelance/Part Time
Location: Remote-friendly; occasional onsite visits for product review/photography
Compensation: $25-$35 hourly rate
Deliverables: Design files, vendor contact sheets, sample approvals, final product specs, vendor orders, and cost breakdowns
