Project Manager (Contract)

Summary:
Are you a strategic operator who thrives at the intersection of design, product, and engineering? This role sits at the heart of a dynamic, AI-powered consumer web design organization, serving as the operational backbone that enables a world-class design team to do their best work at scale. You will partner closely with Design, Product, and Engineering leaders to drive planning, delivery, and team effectiveness across a portfolio of high-impact, personalized consumer experiences reaching millions of users. This is a highly visible, cross-functional role for someone who brings both a deep appreciation for the design process and the program management discipline to keep complex, concurrent workstreams moving with clarity and confidence.
Job Responsibilities:
Partner with Design leadership on planning and delivery across multiple concurrent product initiatives
Drive the design team's operating cadence, including road mapping, reviews, critiques, and quality checkpoints
Surface risks, dependencies, and decisions across teams before they become blockers
Identify gaps in how the team works, then design scalable processes, tooling, and rituals to close them
Translate feedback and decisions from leadership reviews into clear, tracked action items for the team
Design and run operational rhythms for the design organization, including planning cycles, refinement and alignment checkpoints, and status reporting
Own capacity and resource planning as well as risk management across the design portfolio
Design intake, review, and handoff workflows to support consistent and efficient cross-functional collaboration
Facilitate design reviews and leadership checkpoints, capturing structured decisions and producing executive-ready status reporting and documentation
Requirements:
2 to 4 years of experience in Program Management, Design Operations, Technical Program Management, or a closely related discipline, with consideration given to candidates with more experience
Track record of supporting cross-functional product and design teams in fast-paced environments
4 or more years of Design Program Management experience, including designing and running operational rhythms of a design organization
4 or more years of experience in process design and workflow tooling, including designing intake, review, and handoff workflows
4 or more years of facilitation and communication experience, including running design reviews and leadership checkpoints
Prior experience as a Design Program Manager or in a role embedded within a Product Design organization preferred
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple complex workstreams simultaneously in fast-paced environments
Working knowledge of the product design process and end-to-end development lifecycle
Strong stakeholder management skills across disciplines and levels of seniority
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Proficiency with modern planning and collaboration tools including Microsoft 365, Teams, SharePoint, Figma, Jira, Azure DevOps, Loop, and Planner
Comfort navigating ambiguity and driving clarity in evolving environments
Demonstrated passion for improving systems, processes, and team effectiveness
Experience with structured decision capture and executive-level documentation

Location: Redwond, WA (Hybrid: 4 days/ week onsite)
Duration: 6 months
Pay Range*: $42.50 - 48.50
Weekly Schedule: 40 hours
Job Status: Non-Exempt
