Full Job Description

Gradient is a small startup in Seattle, WA. Our goal is to provide real world applications utilizing AI and robotics. More information will be provided at interview stage. Come join us to work on challenging problems, serve real customers, and gain experience with a small startup.

We are looking for a Robotics Engineer to join our team and help develop and scale our robotic automation system. The ideal candidate will have experience in robotics engineering, programming, and/or automation. The successful candidate will be responsible for researching and developing robotic systems, testing the performance of the robots, and troubleshooting any issues that arise. This is an excellent opportunity for an individual who is passionate about robotics and wants to gain valuable experience in the field, and work closely with an Engineering mentor in a fast-paced start-up environment.

Responsibilities:

Collaborate with the robotics engineering team to design and develop robotic systems using Arduino or Raspberry Pi platforms.
Participate in the assembly, integration, and testing of mechatronic systems, ensuring adherence to safety standards and quality guidelines.
Develop and optimize software solutions for controlling robotic systems using Python and/or C++ programming languages.
Familiarity with path planning and optimization algorithms is a plus.
Implement data pipelines and infrastructure to facilitate efficient data collection, analysis, and visualization for robotic applications.
Work closely with the team to contribute to the development of pick-and-place robots.
Conduct research and stay updated with the latest advancements in robotics, automation, and mechatronics to propose innovative solutions and improvements.
Assist in troubleshooting and debugging robotic systems, addressing technical issues and proposing effective solutions.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including mechanical engineers, electrical engineers, and software developers, to ensure seamless integration of components and systems.
Document design specifications, test procedures, and project progress for internal and external stakeholders.

Desired Skills and Qualifications:

Hold a degree in Robotics Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
Proficiency in working with Arduino, Raspberry Pi platforms, and Teknic Clearcore for hardware prototyping and development.
Solid understanding of mechatronics principles, including sensors, actuators, and control systems.
Strong programming skills in Python and/or C++ with a focus on robotics and automation.
Familiarity with data pipelines and infrastructure for handling large volumes of sensor data and implementing real-time monitoring systems.
Previous experience or coursework in robotic arm manipulation, kinematics, or pick-and-place robots is highly desirable.
Knowledge of relevant software frameworks, libraries, and tools for robotics, such as ROS (Robot Operating System).
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen attention to detail.
Excellent teamwork and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively in a multidisciplinary environment.
Self-motivated and proactive, with a passion for robotics and a drive to learn and adapt to new technologies and methodologies.
Ability to manage time effectively and prioritize tasks to meet project deadlines.

Pay: $80,000.00 - $130,000.00 per year
