Location: Columbia, SC (Hybrid – minimum 1 day onsite per week; must be able to go 100% onsite if required)

Clearance: Top Secret (Interim acceptable to start)

Length: Long‑term program role

Job Overview

We are seeking a Junior Splunk Administrator to join our dynamic team in a hybrid work environment at Washington DC or Columbia, SC. The System Administrator III – Junior Splunk Engineer will support government network security, monitoring, and performance initiatives by administering and enhancing Splunk‑based monitoring solutions across Windows and Linux environments. This role requires a technically capable systems administrator with hands‑on Splunk experience, strong scripting ability, and an aptitude for operating within secure, compliance‑driven environments while collaborating with government stakeholders.

Duties

Administer, configure, and support Splunk environments for security monitoring, system performance, and log analysis.
Define and implement security, utilization, and performance requirements for local and wide area networks.
Integrate monitoring solutions with existing government security and logging systems.
Analyze Internet proxy logs, security event data, and system logs to identify trends and issues.
Support capacity planning and performance optimization across Windows and Linux server environments.
Utilize scripting tools (Ansible, Python, PowerShell) to automate system administration and monitoring tasks.
Support Windows Active Directory, Windows Server, and Red Hat Enterprise Linux environments.
Collaborate with cybersecurity, network, and systems teams to resolve incidents and improve monitoring posture.
Produce technical documentation and support operational reporting requirements.

Qualifications

Experience defining security, utilization, and performance requirements for LAN/WAN environments.
Hands‑on experience with the Splunk platform, including log ingestion, dashboards, and alerts.
Experience supporting Windows Server, Active Directory, and Red Hat Enterprise Linux systems.
Familiarity with scripting and automation tools such as Ansible, Python, and PowerShell.
Experience with Internet proxy logs, security monitoring, and system performance analysis.
Ability to work in a hybrid environment with onsite reporting requirements.
Ability to obtain a Top Secret security clearance (Interim clearance acceptable at start).

Preferred Skills

Experience integrating Splunk with enterprise or government security monitoring systems.
Familiarity with RSA security platforms and enterprise authentication environments.
Prior experience supporting government or defense programs.
Strong troubleshooting, documentation, and analytical skills.

Pay: Up to $45.00 per hour

Top Secret (Preferred)

Work Location: Hybrid remote in South Carolina
