Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Court Clerk to join our judicial team. In this vital role, you will serve as the administrative backbone of the court, ensuring smooth operations and accurate record-keeping. Your energetic approach will help facilitate courtroom procedures, support legal processes, and maintain organized case management. The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational skills, a passion for legal administrative work, and a commitment to delivering exceptional service in a fast-paced environment. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the justice system while developing valuable legal and clerical expertise.

Responsibilities

Prepare and manage confidential court documents, including filings, dockets, and case files, ensuring accuracy and timeliness
Assist in scheduling court hearings, trials, and other proceedings while coordinating with judges, attorneys, and litigants
Conduct legal research and gather information pertinent to ongoing cases using various legal databases and resources
Enter data into case management systems with precision, maintaining confidentiality and data integrity
Support courtroom procedures by calling cases, recording proceedings, and managing exhibits during trials or hearings
Handle clerical tasks such as filing documents, processing payments or cash handling when necessary, and maintaining organized records
Provide excellent customer service by answering inquiries from the public, attorneys, or court staff professionally and efficiently
Other duties as required or assigned

Requirements

Proven experience in legal administrative roles or as a paralegal with familiarity in litigation support and procedural law
Strong research skills with the ability to interpret legal terminology accurately
Experience with legal case management software and word processing tools such as Microsoft Word
Knowledge of courtroom procedures, filing systems, and legal documentation standards
Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail for data entry and record keeping
Ability to handle clerical tasks efficiently while managing multiple priorities in a busy environment
Previous office experience combined with customer service skills is highly desirable
Basic understanding of cash handling procedures and confidentiality protocols
