South Central Minnesota JATC – IBEW Local 343 Job Posting

Position Title: Electrical Apprenticeship Administrative Assistant

Organization Overview: The South-Central Minnesota Joint Apprenticeship and Training Committee (SCMN JATC), located in Rochester, Minnesota, is a non‑profit organization jointly sponsored by union members and union electrical contractors. Our mission is to develop a skilled, knowledgeable, and capable workforce for the unionized electrical industry within the jurisdiction of IBEW Local 343.

Position Summary: SCMN JATC is seeking a detail‑oriented and highly organized Administrative Assistant to support the daily operations of the Electrical Apprenticeship Program. This full-time role provides essential administrative, financial, and compliance support to ensure the success of apprentices, instructors, and program leadership.

Key Responsibilities: Provide administrative support to the staff and apprentices Process new apprentices and maintain apprenticeship records, including DOLI registrations and DOLI compliance Perform accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll‑related tasks Support Equal Employment Opportunity oversight and compliance Prepare monthly financial reports and assist with general office operations Process VA benefit paperwork and order textbooks Monitor State Board of Electricity exam arrangements Monitor time‑card hours and issue wage‑increase notifications

Required Qualifications: Proficiency with Microsoft Office, QuickBooks, and Microsoft Access Exceptional written and verbal communication skills Ability to multi‑task and manage competing priorities Strong organizational skills and attention to detail

Position Details: Full‑time: 40 hours per week Starting wage: $22.00-$28.00/hour based on experience Employer‑paid benefits include family health care, paid holidays, vacation accrual after six months, and a retirement plan
