Full Job Description

Baltimore Fabrication, an Affiliate of SteelFab Inc. is looking a 3rd Shift Supervisor for one of our Fabrication Shops located in York, PA

**3rd Shift Employees receive a $4.00 shift differential

Summary:

Supervision and coordination of fabricators, and welders in the fabrication shop, parts fabrication and material management. Review drawings prior to procurement of material for missing or incorrect information including dimensions, weld symbols, connections, etc. Inspection of final products prior to shipping to ensure proper dimensions, completion of welds and parts. Directly supervise fabrication shop employees in work tasks to verify and ensure conformance to safety, specifications, drawings, procedures, and quality, schedule, and budget

Job Functions:

Plans, assigns, coordinates the workload of team members to maximize productivity, quality, and safety
Assist in the training and upgrading of the skills of every team member, instructs, trains, and coordinates activities to keep employees working at stations, and focused on tasks.
Communicate effectively to give accurate and precise instructions to employees. Resolve obstacles by working with other departments.
Supply technical information, tooling or other assistance to ensure that employees are able to continue working rather than seeking assistance elsewhere
Report disruptive behavior on the part of any team member and implement corrective action.
Perform production duties when all team members are working efficiently
Prepare plots, templates, table set-ups, and fixtures to aid in lay-out and assembly of complex weldments
Inspect work of others in team, investigate malfunctions with machinery and equipment and decommissions, and reports for repairs
Read, write and communicate effectively
Accept and follow directions correctly
Set example for working safely and enforce safety rules and regulations, and housekeeping.
Maintain advanced safety training in First Aid
Participate in the interview of prospective employees
Adherence to Behavioral and Conduct standards
Adherence to Safety protocols
All other duties as assigned

Shift + Pay Information

3rd Shift: Friday-Sunday, 5:00am-5:00pm (Paid for 40 hours)

**3rd Employees receive a $4.00 shift differential

Qualifications and Requirements:

5+ years working as a fabricator / welder in a steel fabrication shop and interpret drawings
Must have basic mathematic aptitude and basic computer skills
Trained in advanced areas of safety: crane usage, PPE, Machine operations, Forklift Safety
Operational knowledge of all machines used on the shop floor. Able to use Air arc, 90*angle grinder, crane, heating torch, cutting torch
Highly reliable and dependable with strong time management
5+ years’ experience reading and understanding fabrication drawings including dimensions, weld symbols, layout design and connections
Experience inspecting welds, preferred (CWI certification a plus)
Experience managing teams and individuals
Experience identifying quality issues and implementing corrective actions
Ability to organize and maintain several different projects at once
Ability to provide corrective action to employees and processes within shop fabrication
Ability to work independently
Ability to lift 50+ lbs
High school diploma or equivalent.
