Position Summary

The Operations Lead is responsible for supporting daily operations by coordinating workflow, guiding team members, monitoring productivity, and helping ensure work is completed safely, accurately, and on schedule. This role serves as a hands-on leader on the floor, working closely with supervisors and managers to maintain quality standards, resolve operational issues, and promote a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement.

Essential Responsibilities

Lead and coordinate daily operational activities to meet production, shipping, receiving, inventory, quality, facilities, and service goals.
Assign work, monitor progress, and adjust priorities based on workload, staffing, equipment availability, facility needs, and business priorities.
Provide hands-on support to team members and help remove barriers that may affect productivity, safety, quality, or facility readiness.
Train, coach, and support employees on standard work procedures, safety practices, equipment use, facility expectations, and company policies.
Monitor workflow, identify bottlenecks, and communicate issues or improvement opportunities to management.
Support facilities management activities, including general building upkeep, housekeeping standards, maintenance coordination, equipment condition checks, security awareness, vendor coordination, and timely reporting of facility concerns.
Help ensure the facility remains clean, safe, organized, and operationally ready by identifying hazards, escalating repair needs, and supporting corrective actions.
Assist with compliance expectations applicable to Washington State operations, including workplace safety practices, accident prevention procedures, PPE use, emergency readiness, first-aid readiness, safety meetings or committee participation, and required documentation.
Support compliance with Washington State Department of Labor & Industries, DOSH, WISHA, OSHA, environmental, fire, building, and local regulatory requirements as directed by management.
Ensure team members follow company policies, safety procedures, quality standards, housekeeping expectations, and applicable facility rules.
Support accurate documentation, reporting, inventory transactions, production records, maintenance follow-up, safety records, and operational tracking as required.
Assist with shift start-up, daily huddles, task planning, safety communication, facility updates, and end-of-shift communication.
Partner with supervisors, production, warehouse, maintenance, quality, customer service, logistics, vendors, and facility service providers to support smooth operations.
Promote a positive, respectful, compliant, safety-focused, and team-oriented work environment.

Required Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent required.
Previous experience in operations, production, manufacturing, warehouse, logistics, or a related environment preferred.
Demonstrated ability to lead by example and support team performance in a fast-paced work setting.
Strong communication, organization, problem-solving, and time-management skills.
Ability to read, understand, and follow work instructions, safety rules, production schedules, and standard operating procedures.
Basic computer skills and ability to use operational systems, scanners, inventory systems, or Microsoft Office tools as needed.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively while maintaining attention to detail.

Preferred Skills and Experience

Prior lead, trainer, or supervisory experience.
Forklift, pallet jack, or material handling equipment experience or certification, if applicable to the facility.
Experience with lean manufacturing, 5S, continuous improvement, or productivity tracking.
Knowledge of inventory control, shipping and receiving, production flow, or quality inspection processes.

Physical Requirements and Work Environment

Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, and move throughout the work area for extended periods.
Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull materials as required by the position and facility guidelines.
May work around moving equipment, production machinery, warehouse traffic, noise, varying temperatures, or other operational conditions.
Must follow all required personal protective equipment and safety procedures.
Must be able to work assigned shifts and flexible hours as business needs require, including overtime, weekends, or adjusted schedules.
