Full Job Description

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

o Communicates appropriately with peers, management and physicians, patients and patient’s family members.

o Participates in at least one of the center’s committees.

o Adheres to surgical principles and practices as described in the center’s policy and procedures.

o Participates in the center’s staff meetings and in-services offered.

o Maintains CEs as required by State and Center’s policies annually.

o Demonstrates competence in admitting, recovering patients from regional, local, IV conscious sedation and general anesthesia for adult and elderly patients.

o Demonstrates competence in discharging a patient.

o Provides education to patients preoperatively and post operatively.

o Demonstrates competence in preparing and administrating medication.

o Demonstrates competence in teaching patients and family member or significant others.

o COVID Vaccine Required.

Qualification Requirements: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Education and/or Experience: Has a high school education and/or has an equivalent. Graduate of an accredited nursing school, with two (2) years related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience. Has obtained or will obtain within six (6) months of employment BLS and ACLS certification.

Language Skills: Ability to read and interpret documents such as physician orders, laboratory results, safety rules, operating and technical instructions and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.

Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

Certificates, License, Registrations: Current nursing license from the State of Colorado and current BLS certification and ACLS certification or will obtain within six (6) months of employment.

The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move more than 50 pounds. Must have good visual acuity.
