Job Title: On Site Safety Specialist
We are seeking 2 highly skilled and personable On Site Safety Specialists to join a team of safety professionals on a complex, high-value pharmaceutical construction site. This role demands deep expertise in electrical safety, SSSP implementation, execution of onboarding activities, along with the ability to communicate effectively across diverse teams.
Salary Compensation: $50-55/hr, depending on experience. This position is a temporary W-2 position with full-time hours (50 hours per week, OT paid at time-and-a-half). Per-diem will be considered for non-local candidates. In this job, the employee works on the construction site, working to ensure the safe operations of all trades and workers on-site on behalf of the Paragon client, the site owner
Project Start: ASAP
Project Duration: 2-3 months, 6+ months
Location: Woodford, VA
Key Responsibilities:
- Execution of onboarding activities as directed by the client upon project inception.
· Site-specific safety plans (SSSP) and contractor safety requirements
· Job hazard analyses (JHAs) / activity hazard analyses (AHAs)
· Permit-to-work systems (e.g., hot work, confined space, LOTO)
· Maintaining access control of active construction and renovation work areas
· Monitoring:
o The safe execution of work-at-height operations (ladders, scaffolds, lifts)
o The safe execution of electrical work and proper lockout/tagout implementation
o The safe execution of material handling, rigging, and lifting activities
o Housekeeping, access/egress, and site organization
o Contractor work practices and supervision of contractor trades
o Hazard controls in place
o Pre-task planning effectiveness and adaptability
· Managing the permit systems process and authorization controls
· Hazard identification and risk assessment processes
· Inspecting and auditing processes
· Incident management and root cause analysis
· Training and competency verification
· Contractor oversight and integration
· Corrective action tracking and closure
Ideal Candidate Profile While Have ONE Of The Following:
- Degreed safety professional with 12 - 15 years of continuous safety experience in construction
- 10 years full-time construction safety experience and OSHA 500 certification
- Certified Safety Professional (CSP) listed with the Board of Certified Safety Professionals with 2 years of continuous construction safety experience.
Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the US and pass a background check and drug screen.
